Does anyone know the difference from the old Slim Jim's to the new 2.0's?
I have been running the regular SC8-5000 ones on my curves for years like Mr. Sled, but now I see they are calling them S2C8-5000 Slim Jim 2.0. I saw on Woody's site it says ' Lighter weight runner than prior Slim Jim'...
You would likely need to remove the muffler. There is also a sheet of fiberglass heat shield under the foam that the foam is stuck to. I am not sure if that is needed or not. It is likely starting to detach from all the oil as well. My dealer had redone mine several times trying to solve the oil...
Press your hand on the foam padding in the bottom of the sled under your exhaust and see if it is oil soaked. That is likely where the smell is coming from. If it is soaked I would either remove it or when riding hard remember to toss some snow in there or else it may catch on fire. I have had...
Thanks for all the replies everyone.
Today with a fresh outlook lol I took another look at the shock. It looks like only the TOP eye is wider. The bottom one is the same as the old one. Amazingly the steel collar that goes in the top is actually long enough and the shock eye fits in the arm...
-Sorry this is going to be a long post lol.
Beginning of this past winter I noticed that the small spring on my center shock was broke. I took it to the dealer and had them remove the shock and to see about getting it warrantied. Once out it was realized that the shock body was all worn down...
Well good news for me at least lol. The harness hasn't come in yet but I picked the sled up anyways so that I can use it for the weekend. I guess the wire issue is actually that the dealer got the 3wire harness that goes to the reverse sensor caught under the metal plate when they put the...
Yikes that's not good. I actually heard from my dealer today and sounds like the same thing. They said rubbed wires and have a replacement harness on order. Now I'm worried that it's going to happen after the wires are fixed lol. We'll see. Thanks for the update.
Did you get the reverse beeper figured out?
Mine is doing the same thing minus the fuse blowing. Fwd and Rev work but the beeper and the R on the dash will not stop. If I shift to reverse I get the dreaded sd-08 but reverse does work. I don't even have to start the sled for the beeping to...
Hello all,
I noticed yesterday that on my center Qs3 shock the spring had no tension on it and when I tool it back to the dealer (it had to go back for something else) I had them check it and it looks like the top spring of the dual rate combo was broke in 1/2. They are trying to get Yamaha to...
Hey-
No I never bothered drilling any holes. Normally I'm not in real deep snow so for me it never really became an issue. I see you have an MTX though and I'm guessing you will be riding the deep stuff. So it may be a good idea to put a few small holes in any of those ribs that stick down. I...
Has anyone had this issue with their sled? My friends Turbo Cat looks to maybe have water in the chain case. See Pic. It only has 2 rides totaling 150 miles on it since the oil was changed.
He sent the pic to his dealer and they are telling him it looks like condensation. I don't see how...
