    Viper idles rough and quits

Sorry to say but I had exact same symptoms at 7600 miles. I couldn’t believe it was valve adjustment. I did valve adjustment and solved issues. Did it myself for under $100. Lots of work but I could help you thru it.

Pivot Arm 1, snapped (Front Track W arm)

Yes I agree it didn’t just break. But did fall apart with no warning on smooth trail. I just remember hitting anything that would damage that. I guess small crack that got worse. Only rode twice since I had on my table for pre season service. Parts on the way along with new Polaris xc

Pivot Arm 1, snapped (Front Track W arm)

I think Yamaha should cover this. I ride smooth trails with no jumping and this happens. What the hell. Yes I have newer Hygear shocks all around. Just found a track and bought new bearings. This reliable Yamaha rumors is a joke. Recent valve adjustment is $1k. I could have bought new pistons...

Pivot Arm 1, snapped (Front Track W arm)

Well found the part at local dealer. Took home and found track is torn bad. Boy I take care of this sled. Sucks. Bumming out right now

Pivot Arm 1, snapped (Front Track W arm)

Well had my viper XTX since new, 9k miles. Well thank god i was on a slow part of trail, relatively smooth and Front Track W arm that surrounds FTS snapped, (both sides) ( item #1) which stopped sled in a second. I got new part and heading home with it in truck, hopefully track is OK, since i...

2015 Viper start up and idle

I’d pay to see someone do that job in 6.5 hrs. I think it’s over that just to get to valve shims. WOW

2015 Viper start up and idle

I think I will do that. My sled had 8000 miles and I checked valves and two exhaust valves where at 0. So they did need it. Lots of work. Still little hard starting but when it starts it keeps running. So maybe Flash will help

    Valve check?

Your not going to run out of adjustments. You only need to usually adjust by .005-.010”. I just checked shims I have and they measure.075”. So there is plenty. If you go about yourself as I did. I have service manual

2015 Viper start up and idle

I have to second that about valve adjustment. Hate to say it! I did mine over summer, two valves were real bad. Still not starting the easiest but once it starts it keeps running. My problems started middle of last year, just out of the blue. (7700 miles) Valve adjustment was $100 parts and...

New Ecu flash for Yamaha Viper/Arctic cats 7000 w/POLL

My 14 viper all of sudden had the same cold start idle issue. Big pain in #*$&@ when you need to hold throttle until it warms up in a trailer, choke to death. I did my valves this off season myself. $100 in parts but lots of labor. (2 of my valves at 0 clearance) To check valves only takes an...

Valve Clearance issues @ 4K miles

Mine starting doing that at 7500 miles, just out of the blue. Ran and idled good one day and remainder of season (all of March) i had to baby sit throttle to keep running in morning. I adjusted valves over spring months, Two exhaust valves were at about "0" clearance. Took time and did it...

    Rail coil type scratchers

Any questions with sled LMK. I got a happy 9k miles on mine

    Rail coil type scratchers

I rarely use them except for crossing lake from rental house to trail. Sometimes with just ice and no snow coverage on lake
