I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, but I'm wondering what ski rods last the longest in poor snow conditions? I'm not worried about darting issues or interested in changing ski brands or styles, or adjusting the sled for ski pressures, I'm just wanting input on actual ski rod...
I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, but I'm wondering what ski rods last the longest in poor snow conditions. I'm not worried about darting issues or changing ski brands, adjusting the sled for ski pressures, I'm just wanting input on actual ski rod longevity. If 2 identical sleds...
My sled was his original test sled for the kit. I'm like you, mostly trail ride and it's also an XTX. I don't know if you have done any other mods to your sled but mine has his entire "package" (non turbo) which includes clutching. This thing pulls like a freight train on the trails and is...
Hurricane kits work amazing, Dave will always help with any tuning questions you may have whether your sled is stock or tuned. Not far from you over in Ontario either.
Perfect, thanks a lot. That was one I was looking at a while back, and yup Yamaha can't get it anymore. Did you actually talk with them to ensure they have them? I've seen before where they show available but reality is they don't. That should be the "machine gun" version with the bumper...
what part number did you find, I can only find the original stock bumper. Is it the heavy bumper Yamaha once had in the accessory book they offered back in the day?
I was looking at their website, shows a nytro with a mint front bumper on it, but it doesn't list that sled anymore for availability. It's all for the newer models.
Since the Nytro hasn't been made now for a while, does anyone still make an aftermarket front bumper for this sled? I'd love to get my hands on a Timbersled "Boonie Bumper" but I think my chances of having one have come and gone. Just wanting to have more protection up front, and the sled...
Anyone have a good storage spot for Fox air pump shocks other than on top of the clutch cover? That spot is already taken by the belt, and the nose is packed with the tool kit, tow strap and booster cables.
take the rad cap off and start it. Does the coolant bubble or nicely circulate? Could also be a bad rad cap, pressure drops in the system lowering the boiling point. Swap it out with another one to try.
Ya that's what I did the last time, and you are right, they are crap I find. Didn't last very long and 2 out of 3 are worn already with not too many miles compared to stockers. Just like to use proper tools if they are available. Does anyone make better bushings that can be used in those...
I have to change the bushings in my Super tip weights. I've changed them in the past with some home made tooling, just wonder if anyone knows if an actual driver/pusher is available?
Finally have snow and got to test it out. Pretty impressed to say the least. Rear shock air pressure was set at 125 psi, full tank of gas and full fuel jug on the back and it road like a dream. WAY less snow in the skid from what I had before, pick shows after 51 miles of average trail speed...
If you want to thump a Viper, even if they have the performance upgrades like header, muffler, air box mod and clutching, get the full Hurricane upgrade kit and re clutch for the change or get Dave's kit also. I run with 3 different vipers in my group, all with full upgrade kits and crush them...
