2007 Starter issues, pulled starter fixed loose bolts, now it spins fine but doesn't engage. I have to assume possible one way bearing?? Does motor have to be pulled to access that side? Anything else to look for that would cause this? Sled has 5000 miles and needs full rehab of front end...

Search in the RS Venture section, there is a great DIY, that's what I used. It's not really that hard , just time consuming . If you have done your exhaust gaskets you half way there. My only tip is you don't need to unbolt complete exhaust, just remove the 6 exhaust manifold bolts from the motor.

What Maim said is most likely, the 4 strokes stator is bathed in engine oil creating some of the heat, the 2 stroke is not and does have wear issues on harness under motor. What is it doing?

Just finished the arduous task of new stator, come to find out, someone else was in there and DID NOT REPLACE IT, i cannot believe someone went through all the trouble only to look. They put Yamabond on cover and closed it back up. It was FRIED. The guy I bought from definitely knew it was bad...

Here's the skinny, 05 Venture RS, just replaced every single bushing, (15000 miles) in front end so I had all the steering out, tie rods, etc. Put all back in and now can't get full turn left, to much thread showing on tie rod ends have me freaked out. I have had tank off and adjusted shaft on...

I see, so it looks like you used that existing hole which goes through the rail and that support plate? That's what I was thinking but am leery about size of bolt as the one for the scratcher seems smaller and I wasn't sure if that would oval out that hole

How do those work in reverse?
