yes it was, that was from factory to. The inner race broke and forced the pinch collar to pull inwards toward the nut. I thought about that to when i pulled it out, but it was in the right way.

Everything went together rather nicely, added about 9 oz of mobile-1 75 synthetic oil, started it on the lift and everything good so far, now we need to get some more snow to test it.

I just replaced that one 2 weeks ago along with the drive shaft bearing on that side, but yes good idea. I think i have found out what has happened, i put a new track on my sled, put the case back to gether, and added just enough chaincase oil to bring it up to the low mark on the reverse...

finally had time to get it together, it was the jackshaft bearing, the inside race was cracked and that is why the pinch collar was so far out. took my time, and did it step by step, all is good, thanks guys

Still good snow in Kalkaska, went riding yesterday, a little icey in corners, but worth the trip up here.

I didn't read thru all the post's, but i remember some where in here that yamaha puts almost 100% antifreeze from the factory, I changed mine out due to it was overheating to, and i also put water wetter in mine, never had a overheating problem again.

Both Jackshaft bearing's (top) are bad (only inside chain case), looks like it got hot, they were missing 3-4 of the balls, my question is, can the drive and jack shaft stay in place to just take the whole chain case off to replace the bearing's? I got the chain case cover off and bearing and...

I bought an 2005 rx1 with the 98 thundercat 136" skid under it, works great, now my brother has the skid extension 136" on his 2006 apex gt, he broke his skid in a snowcross race,lol ( i know, wtf is he racing an apex in there) my question is, what is the best and cheapest 136" skid to put under...

We measured the thundercat's bolt holes, and transfered them to the apex, we put the 136" 1998 thundercat skid under our 2005 rx1, and works great. But i wanna know why people go with the cat suspensions, vs the Polaris or ski-doo, i went with cat for availability in my case.

I would like to add, there is a motor mount bolt that you have to remove as because it goes thru 2 ears on the end of the heat exchanger

I have an 2007 rtx, and it started making a noise on the left side, like a track clunk, and i noticed the big locking nut behind the bearing inside the frame was loose and almost out from the bearing, it looks like the bearing race rides over this nut/collar. What is the precedure to get this...
