    2014 viper rtx

I have the same sled. The biggest thing to check is the driveshaft. You need to look closely at the left side (brake side) on the inside of the tunnel. If you can loosen up the track even better and then see if there is play. The bearing spins on the driveshaft and ruins it. This gets...

    2018 viper spring maintenance

Both of your clutches probably need to be serviced as well.

    Prefered Driveshaft Bearing Viper/Sidewinder

Peer is the import line of SKF so yes they are made in China but at an SKF owned factory. Peer is a very popular choice for OEM's because they are part of SKF which is a premium brand. I have never had an issue with their quality so if you want to save some money go with the cat bearing. NSK...

    Prefered Driveshaft Bearing Viper/Sidewinder

I happen to work at Motion and yes that is the price for someone off the street. I am not sure what brand comes in it from the factory but Country Cat sells them for $25.91 cat part number 2602-198

    Cooling System Issue

Well I tested the coolant and it appears there is exhaust getting into it. Is there any way to know if it is a cracked head/block versus a blown head gasket? If it is a head gasket I assume the motor has to be pulled to have it replaced can anyone confirm that? Seems like it could get...

    Cooling System Issue

As far as I know. Kind of hard to tell when you are riding it but if you are idling and it gets hot yes it will turn on.

    Cooling System Issue

Going to pick up a combustion leak detector from Napa tonight and see if there is any exhaust gas in the coolant. Part #: BK 7001006

    Cooling System Issue

I guess that is possible, are you thinking that exhaust is getting into the coolant? How would I diagnose that problem a leak down test?

    Cooling System Issue

I am having issues with my sled running hot and sometimes overheating. I last year I put a hole in my front heat exchanger from a stud and had to drain the system completely , have it welded up, and refill. This all happened in the spring and I never rode it until now. The first day I rode it...

Found a few Issues Last Night...trip scheduled for Dec. 26th

Pat's is the best dealer I have ever been to, they will take care of you. I agree with InRBigness you need to address the rear skid. I have seen several ruined tracks from broken skid parts over the years. Those guys were lucky and it didn't happen at speed but it did ruin a very expensive track.

Prep for 2 up riding 2016 SR viper RTX 12

Lift up the back of the sled up high. Release the spring tension by unbolting the mounting bracket behind the front idler wheel. The blocks have a retainer clip holding them on. Use a screwdriver to work it off. The new blocks just slide on and the clip pushes back on, you can use a socket...

    Can’t figure out brakes

I struggled with bleeding the brakes for 2 hours one night and after a lot of reading on this forum went and bought a vacuum bleeder at harbor freight. I have done several now and it is very simple and works every time. The one exception was the last time I did it on a friends sled I couldn't...

Prep for 2 up riding 2016 SR viper RTX 12

I have the cat setup which works really nice, it is a seat, backrest, new bumper (seat mounts to this), and heated hand grips. The only drawback is the cost it runs almost 1K all said and done. My only complaint is that it requires bolts to mount it and my cover doesn't fit with it on so...

Prep for 2 up riding 2016 SR viper RTX 12

I am 200 pounds and I trail ride with my kid at around 100 pounds on a 2 up seat on my 14 RTX and have not had any issues with the stock springs on the second position of the adjustment block. I have ridden on the lake with my wife at around 150 pounds and it felt fine. I have the upgraded 4...

    Drivers

Replacing the drive shaft on a sidewinder right now and one of the drivers was stubborn and got deformed while pressing it off. I have a set of used drivers off a viper but they have a different part number on them and look slightly different. They are the same pitch track and tooth count and...
