    Need help… no boost

Well, after a few days of debating whether I wanted to tackle the job, I decided I’d at least pull the exhaust cam caps, rotate the cam upward and pull as many buckets as I could. While I ended up going too far and the cam came out of the head, I think I found my problem. One of the shims in...

    TAPP Set up 998

does everyone with a Tapp clutch have to heat the cover to get it off?

    Need help… no boost

Perhaps, however it’s a brand new header because my last header broke at the bellow again. I can also stall the engine out by plugging the exhaust. Another member on the forum is going to boost leak test his sled to compare to the video I sent him of my sled. If anyone wants to see the video, PM...

I can’t upload the photos for those 2 cylinders but they’re tighter than the picture I uploaded for cylinder 1, which is showing 11% leakage.

    Need help… no boost

My primary cause for concern is the 17.9 pounds of boost compared to the usual 19.4 that I typically see. Coincidentally, when I hook my boost leak tester up, that’s exactly where I can hear air start flowing the the exhaust, right at 18 pounds. Last time I tested this sled, I would get over 20...

I have not, yet. I plan to bring the shops leak down tester home so I can do that.

You’re right, earthling. Anytime the throttle dips, the boost spikes.

150psi across all 3 cylinders. Cam timing is lined up.

It starts well and idles smooth.... on the log, it doesn't fluctuate more than 70 rpm at idle.

On the log with low boost, the throttle reading is steady? Right now it shows boost is 17.9-18.1psi, which is exactly where it starts leaking on my boost leak tester.

Agreed, but the rpm doesn't fluctuate while riding it and the boost is always steady on the gauge. Makes me wonder if its a communication issue or actually a TPS issue

    TAPP Set up 998

I haven’t had a ton of time with my Tapp yet and am running an STM 11.25” secondary but most of my miles are with a blue spring and plus 2 roller with short bolts. I just changed it over to +1 rollers with medium bolts and washers to I’d have adjustability options on the clicker where I had to...

Also, not sure why the throttle position is so choppy on the logs sometime?
