Do a search on 'relay' and you can find diagrams and info about the relays. It sounds like the original relays get a carbon build up which causes sticking and replacing with the updated relay will fix the problem. I have the same issue with my 2010. The same thing with my lights which I think is...
I did the Excell kit this fall and love it. Installed white sliders at the same time and now have about 500 miles on with now wear. Just a direct bolt on with everything included.
