    Curve Skis?

Curves are excellent skis as are Slydogs. I've run both. Not sure if one is better than the other. Slydogs are IMO a better looking ski.

Best runners for yamaha mountain skis?

Depends on sled, track length and studding. Scott Bergstrom can make specific recommendations. I've run both 6 and 8 inch carbide lengths on different sleds. Currently I'm running 8 inch on Curve skis with 136 inch camoplast Ice ripper track. Sled is 2010 Vector LTX GT.

    Ice Ripper track,anybody use one?

I have had 3 three of them. Great track! Not quite as much traction as 108 conventional studs but close. I'll have one on all my new sleds til someone comes up with something better

Vector LTX GT vs Apex XTX

I have had 3 Apex's. Bought 2010 LTX GT and Love it. Much lighter feel than Apex. Performance to 80 mph is great. Lots better fuel economy and range. We had weak winter last year and only put on 2500 miles. Zero changes to 2011 Vector LTX GT so I kept my 2010. Apex Long track looks good...

Suspension set up for 2011 Vector Ltx Gt

Wait 500 miles or so til suspension wears in. My 2010 LTX GT was stiff a while. Mine is set up full soft and it still never bottoms. I weigh a little more than you. You may need a weaker rear mono spring to get it soft enough.

What's everyone running for ski's on their Vectors?

The Vector LTX GT is a 136" inch track. Very light feeling up front compared to Apex's. Great combination of performance and economy. With my setup very easy steering with good handling. A friend of mine just bought a doo 4 cycle in a touring sled. It will be interesting to compare to my...

What's everyone running for ski's on their Vectors?

groomerdriver, Sorry, I usually sell my sled every spring and the ski's go with. This year because of crapper last winter and only 2500 miles on my 2010 Vector LTX GT I decided to keep this one. It is IMHO the best sled Yamaha has built for the high milege tourer. Too bad Yamaha made no...

What's everyone running for ski's on their Vectors?

I've run almost all brands of aftermarket skis. My 2010 Vector LTX GT has a set of Curves. They are a good ski. Sly dogs are also good as well as SLP's. Bergstrom triplepoint carbides are one of the best additions you can make to any setup. IMHO

2010 vector ltx handling compared to a 06 apex es

2010 vector LTX may be Yamaha's best sled ever. Much lighter feeling in the front than Apex's. I had 3 apex's. Vector much easier to ride long distances compared to Apex. I liked the power of the Apex but 2010 Vector LTX GT isn't far behind except for top end. Economy is great as well. The...

    Rear Suspension Set-Up Specs

I don't know whether #3 position is hardest or sodtest. I suspect it's hardest. Mine cam set in softest #1. This suspension is quite firm compared to prior years. I weigh 190 lbs. I have my rear set full soft. And it still is a little on the firm side for my liking. Only solution is...

2010 Vector GT setup...need some pointers

Yamaha firmed up the 2010 mono shock suspensions considerably. So set up with instructions from older mono's result in way too firm a setup. In fact some riders have had to go to a softer spring to get the desired softness and adjustability.

    camoplast ice attack thoughts.

MY 2010 Vector LTX GT has slightly less howl than my 6 other Yamaha's still to noisy IMO. Track works great.

    camoplast ice attack thoughts.

The 3 I've had no increase in slide wear. 2 were clipped every third window. Last was fully clipped. 2500 miles on 2010 vector LTX GT still original slides.
