Thanks to all who stopped out and said hello to us at Haydays.
Great to see Tom ( Mr. Sled ), Ryan ( pro116 ), Chris ( Superman ), Gary and Allen Ulmer, Curt at Sled Start and who can ever forget the Rockmeister ;)!
Good times.

That's not melting. Based on how your rail tips look, they are getting slammed by the track clips. Most likely cause was that the track was too loose.
Honestly, I think you were lucky not to spear one of your rails.

Never got a chance to ride it and the kit never got installed becase SPG had my sled with the new front end on it to use as a test sled during the spring.
Since then, I changed my mind and will be putting the new Mountain Tamer on my MTX.
I will have the used 2010 MTX skid and the OEM rear...
The white piece is from the sway bar mount. The sway bar must have been removed and one of the bushings was dropped during removal. That's my guess.
Looks like your track may have possibly been ratcheting too. Are you running boost? Get Avids if you are. Otherwise, the Wahl Bros drivers...
Just the seat ( the original taller one from SPG ) is 6-1/4# less than the OEM seat/aluminum enclosure.
My SDR under tunnel muffler is another 5-1/2# off of the sled.
12# total and it looks, sounds and functions a lot better ;)!
BTW, your old XTX is at Skinz right now being used to...
We do ship a sticker or two out with each order ( except for rivet orders ). Make sure you check the bottom of the package. I usually put them there so the stickers don't get wrinkled. ;)!
PC, I think your original statement was taken a little out of context. Your family owns a Yamaha...
There are few different variations out there.
Anything with dual pressure chambers ( not just added volume, but the ablility to set both chambers at different pressures ) is considered an EVOL. Think dual rate springs here.
The Float-X that came on the RTX models is not the same as a...
Skidawg ordered though us. We are now shipping kits out in the order that they were received when they are ready to go.
The start up with production had a few hick-ups, but all issues were resolved and the kits are in full-on production now. I apologize for the delays, but we want to make...
The FreeRide seat will be a production item this year. Part number YNSLF600-BK and it will require an under tunnel exhaust system.
Your front end kit should be ready to send out next week :-o
We designed them to fit tight. Our extensions inter-lock structually with the OEM rail that way, rather than putting all of the stresses on the mounting bolts. The OEM rails are sheared to get their shape and the draft ( angle of the shearing process ) will sometimes make them fit tighter on...
One of the other measurements that I plan to take on the '08 MTX when we put the SPG kit on is the difference in weight distribution. We have a 3 scale set up to determine what and how the weight will change from front to back. The sled does have a Mountain Tamer on it, but it should be...
Next week I will be doing before and after on a stock front end with an '08 MTX and then with the SPG Concept kit on the same sled. I will be using two pieces of threaded rod, bolted through the spindle bushings and pointing at each other underneath the belly pan to see what I observe.
We...
Laser Technique
Spent an hour on the phone with rlcofmn tonight talking bump steer and how we could all measure it, accurately with comparable results. He found a flaw in the laser method, and after some conversation, it was easy to see that the laser level is not the way to go.
We came up...
Re: Question for those with the 136 in tip stretch kit from
It's possible that you may notice a little more wear at the bend of the tip-up, but the front of the rail is where your sliders will wear out first. Make sure and take it easy on them to "break them in" on your first ride. It...
The reason for projecting the laser out farther is to amplify the bump steer measurements. It will make it easier to read ( measure ) on the cardboard or plywood and then you can divide the measurements off of that to determine the actual amount of bump steer at the ski tips.
I've pm'ed or...
