Dan.. I think you are finding out one of the limitations of the dalton's.There is a tradeoff, for the convenience of on the sled adjustability. I had the same problem with my Z1 .Poor throttle response with the dalton's until it got on the turbo.|I 'm no clutch guru by any means ,so I turned too...
Hi Guys,
Can someone please tell me how to get the fitting off of the overfill tank. Mine is low, and I have look at this thing and can't seem to figure out how to get it off.
Well just got back from my first ride with Snowtrackers on my Sidewinder.I can say the sled was transformed from being twitchy and unpredictable , to a guided missile. Best improvement I have done to my sled so far .
Well the reason I picked Yamaha over the comparable cat model is, Clutches. I believe the Yamaha model is more Yamaha then Cat.After spending money on the cat clutches they where good ,but only after I had to get aftermarket fixes done.
Well I'm back!! I have nothing but good things to say about my old Z1. But I just bought a R TX sidewinder. Glad to be back home.

Well I have sold my Apex and bought a Z1 Turbo. Drove one this winter on a long tour in northern Quebec and feel in love. My Apex had been the best sled I have ever owned. Not once did it let me down, but I never could get use to the drone. With all the information on this site I took care of...
Put the for mentioned spring in and the sled has a nice smooth engagement > Thank You for sharing this information. This is what makes this site so great. :rocks:
I also had pilots on before. I put the stock ski back on with Snow Trackers and have seen ZERO loss in speed and no darting, and bite in the corners. These things should of come from Yamaha as a stock component on these sleds.
Went to Tri City Cycle this morning to get one,had to order it. Bought mirrors and handlebar gauntlets while I was there. Now if just this rain would go away. :o| :o|
Can some one please tell me more about this "Red fuel pump relay" ? I have gone to my dealer,, and he new nothing about it. I want to replace it but do not know where to get it.
I thought I would bring this back up as I never found a good solution to this problem. This is not my sled, but my friends and he was out again today and complaining about this. It seem the problem is worse in reverse and really seems to annoy him.
