That device is for precision Tuning & ease of belt removal.
The Apex belt is RIDICULOUSLY easy to change & rarely do you need to change the belt height.

Does the ROV now come with a Cut Off switch?

I do know of many cars that have similar issues cuz of this same thing, but NO sleds.
Mine leaked 3 times with 3 different dealers.
Once i did it right, it never leaked again.
When my friend tried to pull it off, it was A LOT of work.

How much extra weight is it on Winder?
I'm only basing my opinion on EPS on the Apex which i firmly believe has a purpose and use.
I just like it as an option.
I mean i weigh 170 lbs now & i NEED to be 165 or in my OCD head, that's why i may lose!
This head is very busy & complex...

I weighed them just like we leave every morning.
Everyone tops off their tanks & oils.
Some say it's not fair if they hold more gas, but that's the rule.
If someone doesn't top off, they don't ride with me.
Don't forget we're not talking at a drag strip or a speed run.

Stock to Stock boys, let's be fair.
The Stock Winder is a bit "poochy" on bottom, which honestly makes it a GREAT trail sled.
6000 and up is a "Religious Experience"
The 900R is VERY touchy on SPORT mode. Kinda scary TBH
My sled was EXACTLY 72 lbs lighter then my old Sidewinder when i personally weighed them.
Both 137'' Ripsaw2 tracks with 96 studs.
Both FULL of ALL fluids including 2 burps to fill gas. Winder holds 1 more gallon.
I removed everything else except spare belt.
Both have hand guards & higher...
So these dealers get to test their sleds first?
Cuz if that's true, then those DOO boys really messed up. Standing a sled up looks impressive, but is actually the OPPOSITE of what is needed in an event like this.
I don't put much stake in an event like this, but it does give some clues.

Even though this is off the Original Post Topic, i'm in the middle on this Power Steering issue.
I've spent plenty of $$$ and time trying to get sleds to handle good & some, like my first Apex, were ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL to ride.
But i figured them all out & never needed the PS after that.

Take the cover off & clean it as much as you can.
If you can't slide those sheaves in & out by hand you may have a rusty shaft or bad bearing.
At that point you may have to bring it someplace to remove the Spider unless you have tools & the Means to do it.

The TAPP is quieter, but you can still hear the rattle showing it's the spline from the get-go so all the fixes people have claimed over the years are just Bogus.
