OK, the FREAK posted it
That is 4 tenths of a mile
That is me on left with CUDNEY Clutch kit with Ice-Attack track & I weighed 174 at time (ate like chit all week)
My old Ecotrail 17 Winder with 96 studs & 185 pound rider in middle
Boost on right with 96 studs & 260 pound rider on right
I will...
My buds' 21 Winder got over 4500 miles on his belt & he weighs 250 plus with 144 studs
He catches me & passes me about 3/4 to 1 mile marker
He's also had NO problems until last ride when a suspension bolt loosened & caused some damage
A VERY GOOD shop in Maine has gone through it to do all the...
OK
I need to chime in here to right this ship
I NEVER said my 900R was FASTER then a Sidewinder!
It's quicker, takes a Winder 1/4 to 1/2 mile to catch me tho
Someone said the Sidewinder's clutching comes spot on.........maybe NOW they do, but it took them 4 years to get it right also.
The first...
I agree
I used to pull stock Winders on that sled & a few more on top
He never launches good with every excuse there is
Maybe the belt was old cuz it broke on one pull, but I think it only had 500 miles on it.
I think it was faster than the other Winder, it just never got the chance to prove it...
OH there's more
3 Poo's had bolts come out of suspension including my buds' new BOOST
We helped a blown Poo 850 off the lake
I heard there were 2 more melt downs in Maine this year, both Poo's
6 of 7 last year were Poo
VES oil is $70 a gallon
I don't care if the new Turbo 2 strokes are the...
I was more about the BOOST against a SideWinder than me.
I didn't expect to be in the race so maybe my kit got me some overdrive
Those 2 weighed the same.
The BOOST said it was on 87 octane setting but we don't think that made a big enough difference to catch that 21 Winder
OK
The OCD boy has the results & some videos!
I just don't know how to post them
BUT I can tell you this:
STOCK to STOCK
Boost out front then Winder reels him in and goes by
UNLESS I'm on it
Let me explain
I ran 1200 miles this past week against a BOOST, my old ECOTRTAIL Winder, a stock 21...
I think the best part of this statement is that some of us just don't WANT a 2-stroke.
I really like the 850's
The POO handles AMAZING
The DOO is years ahead of CAT
BUTTTTT............a huge BUTTTTTT
I DON'T WANT a TWO STROKE!!!!!!!!!
Keep in mind I ride BIG Northern Trails & Back-Pack across...
So CAT may have one NEXT year.
They just keep playing catch-up.
Ski Doo keeps innovating & Poo is trying to catch them & doing VERY well at it I must say.
Ski Doo now has integrated RIDE RIGHT lights in the hand guards, that battery-less ignition system & now Meth Injection to keep the pistons...
DOO had the Turbo 2S first & everyone KNEW it would be on a Trail sled.
Polaris followed them & then brought it to the Trail first to beat them.
Maybe they put some more time into it than POO.
I don't think either sled has an Intercooler do they?
Vic the PREACHER bought some BADASS sleds!
First full week in March I'll be riding all over Maine.
We'll hook up then.
Don't bring that 150mph SRX or even that hopped up RTX Winder...................bring the Apex XTX....................I need a chance
I met SAILOR JOE this week & took him for...
Great points & well said.
I was trying to be nice in my support for the trusted APEX.
I still love it, but it's dated & that's why it's gone.
I lent my 06 RTX this weekend to my 17 year old nephew.
He's 17...............the seat was frozen hard like a BRICK!
He thought it was AWSOME...
This is a topic that NEVER gets old.
"Out of the Box" the Mono is not that good.
Spend some time setting it up preferably with a some dual rate springs then it becomes a VERY GOOD groomed trail skid that can handle bumps pretty good.
UNTIL you hit those Stutter Type Ripple Bastards for a couple...
