Shagnos where did you find a new seat for 100 bucks. I would like to do this upgrade as I am heavy and could use some extra cushion and 6 foot 4 so taller is better.
I cant say enough good about Woodys in Topsham. They took care of me when I bought my RX1 when the motor blew and I didnt even buy it there. I have bought all of my sleds there now. Mine is stock, but they have taken care of every issue that I have reported. They have always tried to fit me in...
Sailor Joe go a bit further to Caribou, you will like the riding better. Millinocket is getting boney.
Fabio I had that issue as well, but even the medium windshield wont fit in most clamshell trailers. I made a groove in the bottom connections that go under the hood and then the only thing...
I am 6 foot 5 tall. It doesnt work as well as the extra tall windshield. However the extra tall makes the snow come back into the dash and against your back. The way the wind rolls behind it is weird. I bought an Oxygen helmet and it was so warm that I dont mind a little colder air on my helmet...
My Stage 5 Elkas came with parts for longer shock and shorter shock. I used the 137 parts, but as you can see it will go 144 and 129. Obviously one part is the shock body the other is the shaft. Not sure what the needle is for. If you need them make me an offer, I dont need them.
I have seen mirrors added to the extra tall windshield. They do have them. I was told by a friend though that they can add the mirrors from the picture above to your Extra Tall windshield. He said Woodys in Topsham could do it.
My Stage 5 Elka came with the parts to make it for a 129 or 137. I have the bag of parts for a 129. Let me know what you need or if you need me to measure something. There is a difference
SRX has a fully clipped track and I think it looks like a 1 ply track as well ( I could be wrong on that). This alone on the Apex was worth 4 MPH. As I understand it they are also lower and have a different attack angle on the track so that can add up to 7 or 8 MPH faster with the same power.
Sidewinder 210 HP (Cant count 300 HP upgrades)
Driveshaft bearing clearance
Chinese bearings wheels etc
Upper gear in the chaincase
Chain adjuster
Clutch offset
Too much float
front shaft issues where shock attaches
Primary and Secondary rollers (Although mine have been good for 6K miles)
Tri...
Every one of my friends with an XRS has sent the shocks out. My buddy that had one last year and a new one this year sent both sets out. Normal weight riders. Engine issues seem to be around 7K miles that is when most Doo riders know to trade them in. SOme go longer but not many hard ridden...
I will miss you Steve. So many of your posts cracked me up. I hope you have better luck with the 600. I dont ride with any of those so I dont have any input. I hate to get off track but the Yamaha does have some issues we all have to address, but to be fair they all do. the xrs shocks are awful...
