I'll be changing all my bushings during the summer as I strip her down and put in some oilites in place. My steering arms have play from side to side so I'll see what the real issue is once I take the spindles out and check for wear, unless the it's just a case of the bolt not being tight enough.
Good to know, I'm at 24000 km's but this thing was beat up by the previous owner so I've been replacing a lot of stuff. I'll start down low and make my way up.
Are you able to verify if your arms that connect at the knuckles have some up-down/side to side play in them? I'm just not sure if...
@maim My slop seems to be coming from the lower portion where #34 and #41 when I move it side to side. I also see a lot of play in #29. If I change those I should see some iimprovement but I'll verify #16 as well.
I realized you posted this a little while back, how did you make your bushings? With a lathe or? I have the same issue in my 09 Venture GT with #34 and #41 having play. I also have some play in the same linkage as RobX-1 has and I have some up and down/side to side play in the arms that connect...
Hello everyone,
I went for a good ride yesterday and would get a loud thump if I went 7K or more RPM's, sounded like the track was missing the cogs or something similar so I took it back home. When I got home I noticed that the track was quite loose and then saw that the adjustment nut on the...
It's all about suspension adjustment. Look up through the forum here as there's a lot of posts about adjusting the suspension on these. I bought my Venture GT last year and tipped it at least 4 times. Did a huge overhaul during the summer and found a bunch of bent pivot arms, missing hardware...
Thanks for the response. I'll clean the surfaces up today.
But for the most part, what I'm understanding is that I need to get my self a second sled... a Viper for that matter lol
It might have been an old belt since I don't know the age of it. I haven't gone back on that lake since I don't have a spare belt anymore but I ordered 2 and will have them by Friday and then I'll see if it still slips in deep snow.
I was out riding during lunch time and went onto an in land lake which had some pretty deep snow. I could feel the belt slipping as I wasn't able to accelerate very quickly, revs went up but I wasn't moving any quicker. Do venture's typically not perform very well in deep snow?
I took a couple...
Thanks @cannondale27, I took a look on partzilla for a part number but they do not list it. I'll wait to see if Travis has one and go from there.
I appreciate the help
Sounds good Travis, I'll go over the rest of the knobs and see if I have anymore that I will possibly need. I'll send you an email as I still have it, I was the person who purchased the rear shock with the resi from you
Thank you
Mitch
Hello everyone,
Would anyone happen to know where I could get an adjustment knob for my front shock? It's the knob that controls the damping compression force sitting on the resi, mine is rounded out and cannot seem to locate one anywhere.
Thanks
They are very close but they aren't making any noise at all. Random question, but how do you mention a member in your message? I can't figure it out lol
Thanks
Thanks Mooseman, Dang! I wish I would have known about the Oilites bushings since the plastic bushings are going to deteriorate with the grease running in the pivot arms... maybe I'll make the switch in the summer so I won't have to worry about it anymore. I'm also in Ottawa and it definitely...
