I agree with you that grounding the ECU is a bad choice for the electronics on the Yamaha 4 strokes.
However, our tether uses a switching relay to turn off the ignition and control the roll over valve. It does NOT ground out the ECU.

Not Timbersled. It has OEM spindles on it, and the rear is definitley not Timbersled.
I did a little looking after my original post. I believe the front and rear are both CR Racing products.
I'm sure Mr. Swenson will let me know if I am incorrect.

Who's front suspension is on that? The lower ball joint in the picture looks like the jam nut was tightened down with the joint orientated incorrectly ( or possibly loose ?? ).
That fuel filler neck looks like a ball buster, be careful or you might be singing...
