    Starter alignment.

For the first time , with 10,000 miles on it, my Phazer seemed to have starting issues. It would click a few times before finally turning over and it seemed to turn over like it was -15f instead of 30f that it is. I needed to do the oil change so I pulled the starter out (cut out the extra...

Picked up a set of takeoff Zero 1.5 RC shocks, need a good preload starting point.

Gotta love Ebay, seen a pair of "new 2018 fox zero takeoffs" listed and noticed in the picture that they had the small rebound knob on them. Since the actual sled they are off of wasn't listed I took a gamble at 250$ and bought them. I found Arctic Cat part numbers on the seal heads that cross...

Setting up Big Venom for 8DN

Well, just about a full tank of gas into powder play this weekend my 8jp Gates Carbon decided to give up the ghost with 2000 miles on it. The carbon belt stayed together for the most part but all the rubber delaminated from main belt. It tossed me over the handlebars in the process as I was...

Sudden air bubble in the brakes?

I was finishing a 300mile ride and suddenly noticed that I had to pull the brake lever a lot closer to the bars than normal, basically no feel until the second parking brake notch. I inspected the system and didn't find the piston stuck, pads are good, and no leaks. After bleeding they were nice...

Anyone had the copper exhaust donuts fail?

A Buddy of mine was on my Phazer and about 1/2 through the ride I notice the exhaust pipe wiggling on my Phazer from behind. At the next stop I check and it defiantly was loose and seemed like the donuts/clamps were loose but since the exhaust wasn't any louder than normal we carried on with the...

    Changing Stator again, Ugg

Well my experiment with a RMStator is over, after 600 miles since it burnt a winding yesterday. Short Back story, someone half assed a starter gear repair and didn't fish out all the shrapnel, took out stock stator last year. At the time the factory stator was on back order and I wanted to get...

    Finally, SNOW!

The Arrowhead/north shore of Minnesota got hammered with this last storm, I ended up with ~16” at my place. Many reports of 12” to 21” from Duluth to Orr out to Grand Marais.Lot of the groomers were out knocking down brush and cattails last week, hopefully the get out before the weekend!

I picked up a set of new powder pros for a great price and I'm wonder which position you guys are running them in since there are 2 sets of holes in the brackets?

Pulling the motor, anything to look out for?

Well, fired up the Viper for day 2 of the MN TY ride to let it warm up and heard it die 10 minutes later. Cycled the key and it barely turned over, dead battery! Boosted it with my truck and fired right up but wouldn’t charge on its own. Took the Phazer instead. Tore into my Viper this morning...

How much does the 1049 "loosen up" with break-in?

Got enough snow to play around on and my sled currently has 400 miles on it. I have the Big Venom clutch kit installed and it goes right to 8600rpm range with the Gates Carbon 8jp and stays there past 90mph. I'm tapping the limiter on launch a touch but I really haven't found a good place with a...

Viper lower side panels the same as Cat? (skid plate)

I'm looking at the full coverage skid plate and I found a place that's blowing out white Arctic Cat 7000 skid plates. From the pictures provided the bottoms look the same but I can't find any pictures showing how they wrap around the panels.

    Bought a "151" thats actually a 156....

I found a "151" for sale somewhat close by for a great price, guy was parting out an older RMK that had an engine fire. Thought nothing of it but decided to look up the PN on the track when I got home and its actually a 156" 2.52 pitch track. I think I'm still going to use it but I'm wondering...

    "Check your exhaust clamps" reminder

Usually I check every year, but I didn't before this season because I had just changed them year before and only had ~1000 miles on fresh gaskets/bushings. I decided to remove my Skinz Ultra because it was getting noticeably louder after 5000+ miles and found that a baffle had come loose inside...

    4,800 miles and.....

Its time for a new belt, the Original looks like it would fail on my next ride if I used it, got all cracked up the last few hundred! My new backup belt seems to have taken a pretty good set in the folded shape from being locked up in the belt carrier bag the last 4 years! Wear wise...

Heading to Munising for the first time!

I haven't been to the UP in the winter since I was a Kid over 20 years ago. Me and my buddies all have crossover type sleds and I'd like to get some recommended trails, loops, and play areas for riding out of Muni. 300+ mile days do not bother any of us so big loops aren't an issue. Also, how is...

turbo guys, how bad is the MPG off the boost?

I was looking around and noticed MCX now offers a 115hp turbo kit for the Phazer that should be OK with 91-93 pump gas, only thing that concerns be is how much the MPG suffers during non-aggressive trail riding sessions. I KNOW its going to suck the gas on boost and in the powder but I'm...

Head up for Duponts on a stock 144" skids (XTX/MTX)

Since there is rideable snow I figured that now woule be a great time to pull the skid out and install my Duponts. :drink: Also tossing in a 4th wheel kit on the rear axle and replacing a few idlers/bearings. Anyhow here is an issue that may cause problems on 144" skid sleds, the Dupont...

Things I my phazer taught me today.

#1 its possible to get single digit MPG with a phazer, 55 miles of nothing but 3+ feet of UNRIDEN powder and took 6 gallons of gas (buddies 600XC used 11 gallons) #2 it runs out of clutch at 85 indicated and hits the rev limiter @ 92 mph indicated with 17t upper gearing as we wound them up on...

    Tuner ski in powder?

How well do the Tuner skis work in powder? My MTX skis are getting pretty beat up and I was thinking about either just replacing the skis as my Bergstrom TPs are still like new or switching to the Tuner ski if they work decent in powder to. I'm a "Do EVERYTHING" type rider.
