X2 on the ground blocks, they played havoc on my 07. It threw all sorts of codes, but after eliminating the corroded blocks all codes are clear, and its run flawless ever since.
There may be less lugs on the ground, but that means there is also a bigger scoop of snow per row of lugs..... Bigger area of snow per row = more push.... There is more to it than lugs on the ground.
Hey guys the sleds a 2007 Apex Gt.
I was getting the sled ready for summer, I blipped the throttle a couple times but never enough to reach engagement maybe 3k rpms when I noticed the speedo would read up to 4 mph? I tried to do it again and the same thing happened, it registered 5 mph for a...
I would eliminate the ground blocks all together. I know you've checked them, but grounding issues suck they do funky things especially to your mind.....
So they replace the Apex with a new one at 18k$ next year, you all complain it costs too much and everyone just keeps their old ones? Theyll never please everyone. ....... I love my Apex and would have loved to buy a viper for the newer better chassis, but the power just wasent there, short of...
Its a personal preference, the longer track does help in certain situations, but it can also lack in certain situations. If you dont have experience with a longer track sled, id stick with what you know. Having put a few thousand miles on an rx-1 and jumping up to the Apex, sorry to say but the...
Love my Apex too, my favorite part is waving to my buddies on 800's when they think theyre going fast....Ive riden a few newer sleds, they may ride a little nicer in super rough and bang ditches better but I wanted a trail machine that I can depend on. On a nice trail the Apex is THE one.
It sounds like you did some research and I agree with SnoPro... I did the same thing found an 07 gt with 2700 miles for a steal . I ended up putting a couple hundred more into it for maint. and some goodies I wanted, but I absolutley LOVE this machine. It rails in the trails, stable as can be...
I have the XCS, after a little adjustment of my ski toe the slight dart they had is gone. So far I really like them about 900 miles on them, I mean my girlfriend just rode my apex all weekend cpl hundred miles and never complained or got worn out by steering. They seem to float pretty good off...
^^^ Just spin the track. If you're going this far id recommend a new bearing. Chances are if its never been off, its not going to come off easy. With that amount of mileage its about time anyways.
I picked up some XCS for my apex. This is my first Apex, and I never tried it with stock skis to compare. Ive only gotten about 200 miles on them, and so far I like them. Conditions havent been the best with a real heavy sticky snow, but they sure do bite well. Maybe a little more steering...
I guess im not sure if by Harley like you mean just the exhaust is loud, or does the engine itself sound a little off? Have you checked the ground blocks? My 07 would run funny when I poked around at the ones near the throttle bodies. Long story short they were dirty and giving a crummy ground.
