Hopefully you made out ok. As an FYI if your still working on it, get yourself some new 5mm allen bolts for the donut brackets. I had to use a dremel and cut a slit in them, then use a screwdriver and wrench to get them off.
I did the threaded rod, washer and nut way. I did also put them in the freezer overnight before hand. Weather it helped or not I couldn't tell you. I can say, I was able to start each one by hand, just enough, then used the threaded rod.
Check website, uses stock ball joints.
They say "zero" is stock. Does that mean stock on an 08 or 09? Because as I recall they changed the camber on the 09's.
I am very interested. I wish I saw this a month ago, don't really feel like tearing the sled apart again this close to snow.
I...
You need the triple points with ski savers. If you call, Scott will know what you need, if you can get ahold of him this time of year. The Ski Savers are worth it. He will usually send you shims as well. I used 3/8" on my 08. But if you ask, he'll send you 1/4" and 3/8" no cost.
Could it have too cold of plugs?
If previous owner started and didn't let it warm up, it can and will foul the plugs. May be able to just clean the plugs. Easiest way is take gas tank off but I have read you can in fact change them without if you have a 2 year old's hands.

Nothing against the Tour Buddy but, it's a big honkin ugly chunk of plastic. It is nice though, as I recall it pulls fuel from the tour Buddy first, then the tank. Search it on Youtube, good video of it there.
Here is how I did mine. SDR under tunnel exhaust. Mounted the mounting hardware on the OFT blockoff plate with another backer under the plate for reinforcment.
I also used to have one in my saddlebags. Yes they fit in the big yamaha saddlebags.
On an XTX I think it would still be a tight...
I ride with a couple Poo guys. First time they saw my sled my one buddy says, " this is why I like Yamaha, look at how well it's built. The parts look like they can take a pounding." He has been a Poo guy his whole life and still is.
His XRS has been in the shop every year for some kind of...
Look it the Nytro Stickies. There is a whole shop manual there you can download.
EDIT: sorry, it looks like it has been taken out. Glad I downloaded it a few years ago.
