I tried the Ultimax belts a few years ago and they just didn't last running boost. The 8DN belt is the best I have found but you have to have your clutching and gearing right with any belt. Running too tall gearing will also cause hot clutches which will lessen belt life. We try to not go...
Been using MCX for 5 seasons. They have all been gas and go.....touch wood. Have thought of trying others but I just hate to give up the reliability, do your own homework get a good install and be happy.
If you are thinking you want to upgrade, you should get the 240 or 270 kit from the get go and just turn the boost down. It won't be simple or cheap to upgrade the 180 kit, headshim, timing, intercooler, fuel system and remap, but yes it can be done.
Moving the collars to the inside makes the stance narrower. I have mine narrowed up with a CR relocate kit, not as nice as the OFT but only $25. Last but not least on your list should be a set of Float X shocks
Probably not even turbo related. It sounds like a tors problem. Check the throttle cable all the way to the throttle bodies, it could be hung up there and not seated or even not seated at the throttle lever end.
Same here 17psi 2000-8000ft one sled with a shim, the other with pistons(same comp) Been running it for years. I could probably run premium but it's cheap insurance and just runs so good
I'm still sticking with MCX :moon: Personal use of of 6 different turbo kits and sold lots. Never touched a fuel controller other than for a higher boost remap. Nytro kits 180hp+, 240hp++, 270hp +++ I would like to see all the brands dyno'd on the same dyno. I love the fact that these...
My knock box was going off like crazy and I wasn't sure what was going on. What was going on was my meth kit wasn't working properly and 2 of the nozzles weren't spraying!!! Definitely saved me from total destruction. I don't run the meth anymore and just good fuel, I have mine set up so it...
I'm guessing I'm not the only one that's had a problem. It seemed like a great idea but I just run enough octane for my boost level and keep it on with confidence. Avgas is cheap insurance. ;)!
Make sure you check those nozzles regularly to be sure they are not plugging off. I had a lot of trouble with that when I ran it on my Nytro. mountain applications are a little different with much longer pulls involved. Dave at Hurricane is knowledgable on that stuff and it is actually fairly...
Are there any options, other than nitrous, that will give this motor a solid 30hp+ power increase. I know turbos are awesome but not everyone is looking for that kind of power or expense. Thinking along the lines of exhaust/intake and fuel/ignition remapping. I'm pretty sure it's doable, just...
I was wondering about the boost being too high??? I did see a solid 20 on this sled on the trail last trip out but didn't think it would get by the gasket(also have hardened studs) Will lengthen the wastegate rod and hopefully not have problems. We did get a pile of air out(again) Weird that...
I hoisted it by the front bumper today and purged lot's of air from the system. Hopefully that will take care of it. I also have an new high capacity fill neck coming for a little extra insurance.
Head is flat and both sleds have the same cooling setup. It's just weird that the overheating sled seems to keep getting an air lock. The tunnels are a pita to bleed but just seems to be one that keeps giving trouble.
