    Make your oil change EASY!

It might be a bit cheaper to buy the proper screwdriver. If you try to use the same screwdriver to remove the body panels as you use on your carbs, you will get frustrated.

    Team Secondary.

Hey Yammerhammer101 (if that is your real name), I don't think the Team off the Polaris will fit; I think the splines are different. BUT, by an incredibly happy coincidence, I have a Team secondary from my Yamaha that I am willing to part with AND I am also from SW Ontario. Let me know if...

Building a small formula one style car with a Genesis 80FI

Great idea. I think the advantages of the CVT and the lighter weight of the engine could be significant. I believe some teams in the recent past have done well using smaller and lighter engines. It doesn't make much sense to me to haul around a (relatively) large 4 cylinder, 130 hp engine...

You should try some SeaFoam. (Just kidding. Recover soon.)

    Hmmm....this one's got me stumped

I've had that happen before. Check to make sure your battery terminals are adequately tight. The battery usually is removed for an oil change and sometimes is not replaced properly.

Let's start a "show off your original nytro" pics

Handling is pretty good (compared to the lighter 2-strokes). I like a lot of travel on the rear for those big hits so I had to install a 13mm swaybar and a wide front end to keep it cornering flat. In the bumps, it is fairly firm but very controllable. Since that photo, I've installed a Cobra...

Started with a Rage, ended up with this. (Close enough I suppose.)

    Deep into "Enemy Territory"

I've only built two prototypes of this version. I have an updated design in the works that will be lighter and easier to adjust. When I build it (probably over the summer), I may decide to sell a few copies. If you are not too far away, you are more than welcome to try it out.

BTW Ragefarmer, where in Ontario are you located?

    Deep into "Enemy Territory"

It's a custom design I've been working on for a few years. It is currently set up for boondocking and trail riding. It rides pretty soft but won't bottom easily. I think AMSNOW has a video explanation on their tech video page. http://www.amsnow.com/sno/default.aspx?c=ss&id=121 It's kind...

    Deep into "Enemy Territory"

I recently visited Valcourt with my 2005 Rage and rode with some of the Skidoo engineers. There were four of us switching sleds back and forth between my Rage (seriously upgraded suspension, but completely stock powertrain), two 800R XP's and the new 1200 4 stroke. The 800R XP is very...

    Show off your "RS" show

Here's my 05 Rage in December 2006. I've since moved the steering post 4" forward and installed a 136" Cobra track. Very fun.

    Apex GT Electric shock

There seems to be two slightly different EC shocks. If you can see a shiny metal clip holding the black solenoid in the shock body, you can simply pop the clip off and the solenoid will easily come out. There will be no loss of oil or gas pressure so it is safe to do. However, I also have an...

    Compression ratio?

There are two main reasons why the Yamaha 3 cylinder can run 11:1 while a big V8 cannot (on 87 octane). First, the larger bore on the V8 results in a longer heat path and as a result, higher localized temperatures within the combustion chamber. This results in some preheating of the charge...

Anybody running a wide front end kit

I'm running a 45" kit from Mountain Performance with a 13mm Pioneer swaybar on my Rage. On-trail handling definitely improved but off trail (boondocking and climbing) suffered so badly that I had to make a kit up so that when I flip my parking brake lever, the swaybar is disconnected. (Of...

    New Susupention

I believe this suspension was called the "Millenium" skid when it first surfaced about 10 years ago. Obviously that name will have to go. Looks interesting; with an injection mold, there is much more freedom concerning the shape of the arms (which appear to be plastic as well) compared to...

MY RX-1 BULKHEAD, PLEASE GIVE ME INPUT!

A friend of mine broke his with less than 100 km on his 03 RX-1 on his first ride on it in 2002. Instead of replacing the bulkhead, I removed the plastic and had it welded by a skilled aluminum welder. I redrilled the suspension mount hole and fashioned a small steel brace that connected the...

    Reverse with 300hp?

Lazy: Is that an intentional mispelling of "braking"? If so, very clever.
