I just put one of BOP in my wife's viper and what a difference with engagement. Went from a neck snapping 3400rpm engagement to a 2600-2700. So much easier for her to trail ride now.
Thank you. I'll give them a buzz today. Next on my list is to get all the part numbers for changing out the bearings while the tracks off. Not looking forward to that project.
Curious if you guys have any suggestions on where to purchase tracks. I'll be in the market for the 1.25" Ripsaw II for my Viper RTX with 10k miles on it. Going to do all bearings and track at same time over the summer. Also is the track size 15"x128" or 129"? because I see them online and it...
I'm guessing some new graphics and possibly a return to a red option and that's about it. I heard rumors of the cat clutches going into the 24 Yami's but thinking that was just that...rumors
My fix is a bit different and has held up for 2 seasons and 2400 miles so far. It is time consuming and certainly not a substitute for a track in need of replacement but a solid temporary fix for those in mid season. First step is to lightly torch (not burn) the hole that the pick pulled out of...
Already said here but make sure you put anti-seize on the bolts when you put them back in. Also I've had luck hitting the bolts with some quick heat from my torch. Doesn't take much and they seem to break loose.
Does anyone know what the size of the Torx are that holds the front of the side panel? It's above the shock where the side panel locks into the black hood flange area. Looks to be roughly 3/4" long Torx on the other side.
Thank you Thank you Thank you.... I'm new to the Viper platform and just serviced it (Oil & Gear oil etc.) Reassembled everything and started it and clutch was free wheeling. I thought at first I had a clutch issue so pulled then and cleaned them and reassembled. Same issue, sled wouldn't engage...
I have a 2015 RTX and you can see the sight glass without removing the muffler. Mine does not have a dipstick but would love to know if us 2014-2015 guys can replace our cap with a newer dipstick model.
Thanks for the info. So with my mechanical pump I can suck out the gear oil to avoid the nonsense of removing the case, however if I want a clean look at everything it all comes off. That makes sense. Thank you again
Been a long time since I've visited the forum for some help from my Yamaha peeps because our Nytro & Apex family of sleds where dialed in and problem free. Recently got my hands on a 2015 SR Viper with under 5k miles on it for a fantastic deal. Included yearly service records from a reputable...
The 201 corridor is usually always good from Bingham through to Jackman. However it is well traveled this time of year. Out of Lake Parlin Lodge I would head North towards Jackman and either border jump or go North East.
you're ok - normal wear. Regarding the slides. The Nytros are famous for chewing up the slides quickly when track is adjusted to spec. However they seem to wear very quickly initially but then they slow down to almost normal wear.
I live in Southern Maine. Here is my opinion. The local trails (Sanford, Alfred, Acton, Waterboro) are ok for what they are. Narrow twitchy trails that cross lots of roads and really don't go to any destinations worth going to. A 50-75 mile day is a lot of riding in these areas. They are nothing...
These are not top-speed sleds but you should be getting atleast somewhere between 90-100mph with that set-up. Most likely closer to the 90mph then the 100mph but 65mph is not right. I'd start with clutch & belt because your RPM's are close so something is slipping and or not engauging properly.
