I have not done anyting yet, may ride it a couple times then decide. I will likely get the tunmel protector kit, not sure on the 28 or 32. Cant be much help....
Talked to the original buyer. He has a receipt from Nov 2018 from D&D for the clutch kit. I believe it changed hands since then??? Will try them again next week. Worthless without bushings.
Recently purchased a '17 Sidewinder XTX LE 137. It came with a clutch kit supposedly from D&D. The weight pushings are pretty worn and should be replaced. D&D tells me the weights are not theirs. Does anyone have any info who may have built these weights and bushings? They are much larger...
Thanks, sounds like a plan. Did you use the 28mm or the 32. Igrip recommends 32 but I saw somwwhee that some are using the 28 to allow the lugs to felx.
After many years away from Yamaha I purchased a 2017 SW XTX LE with the 1.75 track. I want add add some studs, mostly to make it easier to load into the trailer on icy parking lots. I see some have used the igrip studs. I see some recommend the 28mm ,some say 32. Also, I am not familiar...
Odd. Yamaha was always regarded as the technology company. Mostly on engines but also in materials and production methods. Years ago a dealer old me that Yamaha pride would never allow someone elses engines in their products. Snowmobiles and outboards. Outboards still sell very well, they...
The most telling thing so far is that last years "speculation" post had over 200 pages and this year we have not hit 30 yet. With Cat having announced 2021 already and Ski Doo tomorrow there is less and less left for Yamaha.
My 1st choice would be direct injection 2 stoke 700 triple. But that seems unlikely. Yamaha has 700 and 800 cc twins in the SXS. Would it make a good sled engine if they put a turbo on it? I know nothing about that engine, looking for something for Yamaha to return to sledding.
The Yamaha 4 stroke is not a bad thing although I really appreciate the lighter hi tech 2 strokes. Polaris has no 4 stroke, Cat only has the Turbo 998 left. When Yamaha dropped the 1056 into a Cat chassis they did absolutely minimal engineering. The motor sits 3 in the chassis too high. In...
The reason Yamaha has only 4 to 5% market share is because of corporate decisions made 10 years ago, their own doing. Now they use it as a reason not to invest in new product. Lots of car models follow the same path.
Tom, Are you still using this helmet. Tried one on at a snow show and liked the fit. But I am concerned about fogging without the helmet plugged in. I would like to be able to use it both ways. Have you ridden without being plugged in and did it fog?
Thanks
IMO replacing the factory carbides is pretty much a necessity. Also a windshield depending on the model you bought. Then some sort of studs or prestudded track if you ride anywhere there may be icy trails. Then comes the other stuff, skis, clutch kit, storage bags....those things are like...
