Time for new slides,. Dupont worth the money?

I have had them on my sled for 3 and a half seasons. They will out last a track. I installed them on the original track and one replacement track and now on my 2nd replacement track. Maybe 10000 to 11000 miles. Shows almost no wear.

    2021 Release?

I will add my 2 cents to this single shot business. I have one in the 129 length. The shock the sled came with rode like an rx1, maybe worse. I am very pleased with the upgraded shock. I have swapped with other sleds. The rmotion does ride better but not dramatically. I just drove a 2016 8000...

    Sway bar bushing proper fix

I should have done this when I first bought the sled. This has made a dramatic improvement in cornering. The sway bar actually does what it is supposed to, not start working only on the last half of the arm travel.

    Sway bar bushing proper fix

I finally had enough of the slop in the sway bar Link bushings. I bought iolite brass 14x18 and 18 long. Had drill out the bulkhead with a 11/16 bit and used a die grinder to finish the hole and tapped the bushing right in 30 min fix.

Had my Apex on the Dyno

I have this 180 hurricane kit. I bought it without clutching. I used my own set up and tried it. I thought the engine would over rev with an extra 20 hp, well it didn't. I believe hurricanes dyno is a great story teller. Although I can with this set up run ski for ski with a stock sidewinder.

2016 Apex XTX or 2013 Apex

Are you talking about an engine connecting rod or the 2 rods next to the shock in the skid. My skid rods broke on my 16. They are made from aluminum the ends pulled out. I made new ones from steel.

    Power command question

The timing map that hurricane installed has 6 degrees of advance at 10500. No place else on the map that had as much advance as 10500 @ 100% throttle. Seems like a lot to me, un else the newer apexs are cut back more than the older ones.

    Power command question

I have what is called the 180 hp kit from hurricane. Not sure of what hp it really is. With the gearing and airbox mod with shorter intake boots and clutching, I haven't lost to another apex yet. Or it is slightly faster than flashed 900 turbo doo. Or about the same as a stock sidewinder or...

Looking for a brand new Apex

I bought my 16 apex at the right moment in time. Early dec 2016. everybody except me wanted a sidewinder. Apex values were low. I had a choice a new 129 for 11900, just one year warranty or a 129 used 1800 miles, with 2 more years of warranty for 10500. So I bought the used, I hate the time and...

    Apex timing key

The pc5 I got, I was set 6 deg advance at 10500 to 11000. At first I thought it was a lot, but maybe the timing is killed at that rpm in the 2011 and up.

    what skis are you using?

On my 16 apex 129. I have used 3 different skies. The push and no turn and also very little dart tuners. 6 inch simmons that were pretty good trail when the snow was soft lasted forever, scary as fuk on plowed roads or very hard frozen trails, and steered heavy even with power steering. And my...

2.52 vs 2.86 pitch, really.... which is better for top end?

My 16 apex has the 2.86 set up. It's time once again to replace the track. It's got me thinking. I would like to know from someone that has been down this road that has compared the two drives. Same length, same sled, same tack model. I know 2.86 tracks are generally lighter, by that nature...

Not impressed with 2011 top speed numbers

my 2016 apex has the 2.86 pitch, I believe that is slower than the 2.52 pitch tracks. Is there any truth to this?

tuner ski carbides. Is there a carbide that really works?

My apex came with the tuner skis, I right away put my simmons skis I used on my other past apexs. Now they are worn out . Tuners are great for not darting, but they push too much. the stock carbides are small and weak. I would like to know if anyone has tried the carbides form snow trackers...

Question on single shot rear suspension.

I got one out of Yamaha for my 16, but it wasn't that easy. From what I read at the time I got mine, it was easier to get on from Yamaha Canada then it was from Yamaha usa. My dealer had to call and basically beg for the shock.

    Sidewinder/viper bag on apex

I have the exact same bag. the only difference I did , I drilled small holes under the bumper for the rear hooks. I would not trust the thin trim plastic to hold. The bags are great for holding 1 gallon gas jugs. The extra 2 gallons is great at times.

    APEX GEARING

Apexs are extremely over geared. I run my 2016 apex 22/39 with 2.86 pitch drivers. I have had a max on an icy trail of 115 gps speed in around 1500 to 1700 feet. and 110 in 1320. Even geared down to 21/41 and still go 107 gps. How often does anyone go over a real 110 mph?

    Elka shock for singleshot suspension

I saw a xtx with stage 5 shocks front and rear on it last winter. He was the guy that told me about accelerated technologies.

    Elka shock for singleshot suspension

I tried talking with the guys from elka, didn't get the info I was looking for. Then I was directed to Accelerated Technologies. These guys know what is going on, I believe they are the testing grounds for elka anyway. They had answers that elka them selves did not. example elka said no shock...
