Where is the best place to buy a MTX track?

I Have too many extra parts including a stock 144 X 2 in good shape. I think it had 1500 km of trail riding by the original lady owner. I switched to a 153 when I bought my Phazer. The track has been sitting in my shed "in case" for five years.. I need to de-clutter, so I'll look it over this...

    Water in the airbox

Same problem in deep pow. Looking at the air box lid, I didn't like the fit, so I added foam tape strips around the edges of the airbox. Problem greatly reduced. Now I check and clear snow out occasionally on deep days too. Also did my own ground update a couple years ago. Dealer wouldn't do...

    144" to 151" Extensions or Set-back?

The track is the real difference. I did a 3" setback and 1" drop with rear brackets, amazing difference, rode for a season, and then moved back to stock mounts and put extensions on. I have a season on that and am in no hurry to change back. The setback is a bit less tippy, but I think it...

Phazer MTX A-Arm shim HELP (go easy on me)

I don't know of any shims that could change the a arm, so must mean moving the skis to a wider setting at the spindle

    Gearing change

I agree there seems to be more wrap than usual on the stock setup. I have 4000 km plus a spare well used chain, so will try that once I get a gear. Where did you get the 45 tooth?

    Gearing change

I found a thread where someone got this to fit , but had to remove material from the back of the adjuster. perhaps it was a well used chain.

    Gearing change

I have ridden a couple of seasons with a Nytro 153"track and extrovert drivers on my Phazer. I tried the 3" setback and drop 1". then tried stock mounting with rail extensions. Overall, not much difference between the two. The front mounting is a bit easier sidehilling, and the setback is...

    FX to 151"

I haven't put a lot of seat time with the extensions and stock position and half that time was towing a Doo home, so I can't really give a good comparison yet. I have had the 3 1/2" set back and 1" drop for two seasons and had no problems with it other than the usual Phazer bottoming out. Much...

    FX to 151"

I went with set back and drop a couple of years ago when going from 144 to 153. 9 tooth drivers and stock 17:41 gears. Big improvement in deep snow, less trenching more stable ride, but hard to sidehill. I recently moved back to stock mounting position with extensions. I only have a couple of...

    Should I trade 05 500ss REV for 07 Phazer?

My wife has a 08 500SS and loves it. She doesn't like riding my Phazer at all. The SS is lighter, faster, easier to ride, comparable fuel mileage.

    Electrical issue

I had a suddenly completely dead sled from the fail-prone ground block in front of the oil tank. It is wrapped and not obvious. there is an update, but I was out of date. Yamaha has a $25 kit to fix this. I cleaned it up, soldered a decent wire onto it and ran straight to the battery ground...

anyone using the mpi supercharger on a 2007 phazer?

You posted as I was typing. I'm sure you have read the numerous opinions from those that do not have a s/c Phazer. Please don't be offended as you have a s/c and can give real world answers. What boost do you see around 5000ft and have you had any problem with crankcase pressurization?

anyone using the mpi supercharger on a 2007 phazer?

I have been researching this for months. I only found 1 shop that claims to have had success at this, but MPI doesn't make a phazer kit anymore and doesn't have a pulley to drop the boost. Some self professed experts say to run a head shim, others say the supercharger shouldn't have a head shim...

    MTX Utility sled

The Venture MP is the work horse version of the phazer. Rear rack, hitch, two up, etc.

    Can I get your opinion

It depends on your riding style. For boondocking, or where top speed isn't a big deal, the phazer works well. It is tippy. An Apex with power steering assist is easier to steer than the older ones, but still a heavy machine. There were a number of updates on Phazers and many say newer than 07 is...

    It fits!

Wow, thats a lot of track for a phazer. Is it still stock gearing? I thought I would have to gear down to the Venture gears when I put on a 153 with the nytro drivers, as that is actually a bit higher overall gearing, but with my new track approach angle and running a looser track with the...

    Sleigh Hitch Help

I built a simple hitch and fastened to the stock bumper. I've been towing 3-400 lbs for the last couple of seasons with no problems. These sleds are built heavy. Just weigh it and compare to a new Doo or Polaris.
