    Need serious help!!

I rode my 22 yesterday for the first time this year. Sled has 3K miles on it. After 25 miles or so pulled over and smelled gear oil. Looked down there and sure enough the speedo sensor is off, and gear oil everywhere. Got it home and there is a hole worn through the chaincase, and magnets...

    Help! Winder stuck at 70

I need help with a little problem. My 2018 Sidewinder will get stuck at 70 MPH no matter how much throttle I give it. It's quick up to seventy, then I give it more gas, even to the bar and its just stuck there. It will on occasion "free up", and I can feel it, and then will accelerate. Gas...

    So my wife says

Why are you taking apart a brand new sled? She doesn't get that these things aren't gas and go. LOL. SO I put in a 4th wheel kit, hose protectors, rollover bypass kit, DMC top gear, welded tensioner roller, brass shift fork pads, driveshaft saver, upnorth tech bracket for gas, oil tank...

    In a bind

I am up in Quebec and my sled is cutting out with any kind of throttle. I am thinking fuel pump. A local dealer has a viper fuel pump, but no sidewinder pump. Will a viper pump work in a sidewinder to get me back to my truck?

    Chaincase failure

Well I lost all the oil in the chaincase. Heard the chain going over the top gear, and new there was obviously something wrong. Opened the chaincase, and it looked like burnt toast. Not a drop of oil. I initially thought it was a chaincase seal but it was not. The bottom bolt on the cover...

    Chaincase observations.

Sled is 2018 Sidewinder STX-DX. Bought it midseason last year when my Apex had a terminal event. 2,753 miles on it. Brought her home yesterday and tore into the chaincase today to chain the oil, and gear oil, as well as change out the tensioner to one that I had the screw welded. First off...

    Hose saver kit

Has anyone installed a hose saver kit for under the tunnel from barn of parts? My buddy has a new winder, and we are looking to put it in. In Quebec last year another friend had a whole in his hose, and ruined a full day. Any install tips is greatly appreciated.

    Seafoam anyone?

My 2011 has 28k miles on it. When I start it cold, the engine sounds like a bag of marbles. I am thinking of adding seafoam to the oil, and then run it for 20 minutes or so, and change the oil. Anyone ever try it in their Apex?

    Odd question

Well, over the summer I somehow shorted out my gauge cluster. My sled at the time had 23,848 miles. I replaced the cluster and now my mileage reads 3,690 miles for this season. Is there someone I can send my cluster to over the summer, and have the correct mileage put on the new cluster. I'm...

    Oil light

Just got a new Yuasa 20 series battery and noticed the terminals are backwards compared to previous batteries. The + terminal is on the right when looking at the battery. Can i install it backwards, or do they make cable extensions? Thanks.

    Battery Charging Question

So i left the key in the on position and didn't know it. I went out to start the sled and of course it was dead. I used a power pack to start it and no problem. So i throw the battery tender jr on it and let it charge. It has been a week now and the light is still not green. 4 days ago i...

    A little advice needed.

I am loyal to Yamaha. Have 2 2011 Apex's. I love them, the problem is as i'm getting older, last year on my Apex my knees and hips would ache on long days, and i believe it may be due to sitting so low and my knees are above my hips. Therefore looking into a Viper. Will this help my...

    Track issue

I went in a 1700 mile trip to the Gaspe and at the end of the trip I felt some grinding and shaking under the sled. I thought maybe I was just grinding ice under the tunnel and it eventually went away. Got it home and looks like the right side of the track is all tore, the lugs are all gone...

    Steering Bushing Help

I changed the steering bushings on my 2011 apex. It did not help with the slop at all. I used OEM bushings. The sled has 20,100 miles on it. Any ideas other than the sled is old, LOL.
