Moose was trying to decide on which to ride the red xtx or the black btx just out of the frame! Yes was a nice site to see, tracks in yard around cabin all season first time it showed up when we were there.
Years ago I had an 05 RX-1 that did this, couldn't keep coolant in the bottle, fill to line next day gone, fill to line next day gone. Searched for a leak could never find one, sled never over heated once. Gave up trying to fill it, never had issue. Sold sled next owner never had issue, same...
Changed jobs, no longer go up but did for a good ten years or so, planted trees up near Massey back in the nineties as well, used to stay at that motel with the dinosaur on the lawn lol. Would have loved to take you up the offer. Used to dredge up in Onaping as well at the Glencore mine.
How long are you guys letting the locite cure? I've got the the offset just under 58 mm, 57.72 on the first sled, going to tackle mine next week. Yamamarc I see you are in Massey, how are the trails up your way this year? I used to spend a lot of time In Espanola this time of year doing...
Good approach, and to press out? I guess a collar to slide over stub shaft and press on inner race would be safest, when I pressed out I went directly on clutch end of shaft, in hindsight probably not the best approach. Thanks yamamarc!!
So I had a chance to look at the 2018 BTX, the clutch had definitely moved in. I pressed it out and cleaned bearing and housing, put green loctite and pressed back in. Now it took some force to press out and in, I under stand the slap of the clutch blowing a belt is quite severe at high speed...
A lot mention removing washer and snap ring from behind to bring secondary in. If this is enough to bring into range would you machine down plug same thickness? Or only machine plug when you machine clutch shaft?
I'm about to go through this exercise of pulling stub shafts in the next week on 2 occasional belt blowers, kind of can blow one if you want to scenario. I cant understand why some sort of snap or retaining ring has not been designed in to stop this bearing walking in from happening. I'm...
Noticed while out on weekend switch is not lit up, warmer works fine but backlight in switch is out, thumbwarmer is fine. Has anyone encountered this. Haven't had a chance to tear into it yet.
Worst part sled had one but owner never even realized it was there, previous owner install. We had taken it out when trying a different solenoid but by then I think damage had already been done. Solenoid finally #*$&@ the bed, put another on works as 12V on starter side with key in start...
The neverending saga continues. So after checking all the ground blocks and unplugging and checking every connection plug everything back in and turn key....... nothing, starter doesn't even kick, Getting 12v on starter side of solenoid with key in start position but only 3v at post on...
Having same problem. Idles fine when cold at around 1500 rpm after 10 mins or so starts to stumble then gradually gets worse then dies. At 1500 rpm voltage off battery is 14+ so tells me stator is charging. As rpm drops to 1300 or so voltage begins to drop to 13.5 or so, makes sense at rpm drop...
A friend has one on his fx nytro, seems to work well. I do his maintainence and have no experience with the pb, which puller is needed if this clutch has to come off? I assume the Yamaha puller doesn't fit? Or does it?
