Thought I'd do a video on my Nytro oil change. Might be helpful to those who want to try this on their own for the first time, and save some labour dollars at the dealer.
This isn't a Nytro vid...but do talk and show a little on my Nytro, so mods feel free to move it.
I agreed to look over and fix some issues on this 97 Venture 500 for my buddy. It's his first sled and he's lookin forward for snow...although it's 15°C here today....
Been a Nytro owner for 9 yrs. A lot of upgrades.
Have a buyer that is offering what I cannot say no to. Good deal for both parties.
Found a 15 Viper mtx with an mpi 240 turbo. Owner installed 2000 kms ago when sled had 1900 kms on it...original owner. Gems controller, set at 8lbs. Inter cooler...
Brother's 07 Apex 121 with a 144 extension. This crack was welded last season, but has cracked again. What options does he have for best fix? Reweld...? Reweld and add support plates...?
Have read many of the old posts on these kits for the Nytro. Would like to know longer term reports from anyone who has had these on their sleds for a while now.
Mainly trail response, cornering, overall handling and any off trail feedback.
And....have emailed MountainTech twice in two weeks...
Travelled two hrs North to some really good snow conditions a few days ago. Got to try out my new Ice Ripper 1.6", and my shimmed skis. First off, the track. What a difference compared to the 1.75 BC. On some hard packed/almost icy sections is where it really showed. No sliding...traction...
What's the max trailer size anyone here has towed with their Tacoma. V6 Auto..short box double cab?
I'm looking at a few different aluminum enclosed trailers...Neo...Legend and Stealth to name a few. Was thinking a 7 x 12 with 2ft V nose would work. Need to be able to park two 144's for sure...
Took apart my chaincaase today to install new track. Took special care to keep all washers, spacers etc in order. But when I was looking over the chaincase bearings, I noticed this little O ring sitting on top of my outer case...have spent an hour trying to find its home with no luck. Anyone...
Thinking of taking off my Curves and trying Apex mountain skis and Snow Trackers on my Nytro xtx. Anyone ever done this? Im told the Apex Skis will bolt right up to the Nytro...and have heard and read mostly great reviews on the Snow Trackers for eliminating darting.
That time a year...loading wood...storing bikes...and shopping for Nytro stuff.
Been using the 1.75 BC on my 09 XTX for 6 yrs now. A few lugs are missing (no biggie), but am doing more trail riding than off trail, hence the missing lugs. Also finding it a pita to try and keep my Nytro from high...
Apex guys...Im over from the Nytro Forum to inquire about my brother's "new to him Apex".
Looking for adjustment values/settings for his 07 Apex (with a 144 track/rail extension) rear shock. He took it out last night because it has zero rebound feel to it. Sure enuf..pogo stick. Is going to...
Manual says 2 - 6 twist for stock helix for an xtx Nytro.
I have the full Hurricane System w Dave's helix. Do I set the twist at 2 - 6...or 1 - 6?
Running a 1.75 BC track with 20/39 gearing
Thx...and Happy New Years all
Last year I lost my Thumb Boost power from my Yamaheaters. But it was near the end of the season so I basically forgot about until now. Called Roc today and he walked me through the diagnosis of all the connectors with my multimeater. Turned out the actual Thumb Boost Module was the culprit...
Ran into an issue while installing front part of kit on my xtx.
Seems like the two small bushing that butt up on the inside of front shock wheels are too wide and too long. They dont sit inside the wheel bearings...and as a result, the alum arm does not lay flush w the outer side of those...
Just scored a sweet pair of Superclamp ll's. However, po did not have the E Track system. Has anyone here ever used the SC's and just screwed a hole in the trailer deck, installed the bolt and anchor it with the washer and nut?
Im a bit worried it may pull through unless I attach a bracket...
Finished jackshaft and driveshaft bearings. Disassembled entire skid to clean and regrease, and replaced all 11 wheel bearings. Polished tunnel. Relocated brake/tail light. Covered holes w aluminum. Sent 4 shocks out for revalve/rebuild for my 265 lbs.
Meanwhile...waiting for new STAR linkage...
So I thought I would have a look at my drive shaft bearing today. Been a few yrs since dealer replaced it (probably only 1000 - 1500 kms on it).
Took off secondary
Took off left plastic lower shroud
Unbolted my after market belt guard (Nitros223 guard)
PB blasted the two set screws on back...
