Just curious who the TY members were that I rode with on Friday at the TY Giveaway Ride. I can't remember any names, sorry. This group rode off Nowhere road SW of town.
Many thanks to Tom and his supporting crew, all who contributed and those who attended for another great TY ride. Thanks to the "Off-trail" group who let an old guy on an old sled tag along on Friday. I won't remember your names but thanks - nice warming fire pit btw. Great to meet some old...
Anybody have a Speedo pickup (the electronic sensor that mounts to the drive axle bearing cage)? I'll be at the Giveaway Ride if you are going and can bring it.
If you own a S-TX sled with the 146 skid, I need some measurements. I need the skid mount measurements. I can even come measure it myself if you are close enough.
Models I know of that have this skid (there are likely others too)...

Can someone post the mount measurements of the STX DX 146 skid. I believe this came in both the Sidewinder and Viper models between 2016-2021? Basically I need to duplicate the geometry (drive axle to each mount CTC, and mount to mount CTC) in a different sled.
UPDATE: I did some research and it appears that this skid is used in the STX models - maybe the DX refers to the Yamaha name for the skid?
Any feedback on the 146 skid found in the Yamaha STX models like the Winder STX or Viper STX?
... I assume this skid found it's way into some Yamaha...
This shock blew up shortly after a refresh in mild bump conditions. Sure been punished way harder before. It seems apparent that the shock locked up on compression and bent the shaft, then the rest of the carnage occurred. But what do you guys see?
Looking up some tech info for older Yamaha sleds (yes I still wrench) I ended up on this site. Been quite a while, so I thought I would say Hi and see if anyone responds. Kinda neat just reflecting back on TY Rides of past years and remembering different ones. So many came to mind, way too...
Just wondering if anyone else had a front skid shock blow it's top on the XTX skid with Star Suspension upgrade. There doesn't appear to be any damage and I can't tell if it pulled from over-extending or compression pressures.
Also looking for possible alternatives to the stock SOQI shock...
Apex front shocks 16.5 and 17.5 - did they change the length in certain year?
I have done some searching but can't find a clear answer . . .
I am trying to figure out if Yamaha changed from a 16.5" eye-to-eye to a 17.5" eye-to-eye on certain Apex / Attak models. Has anyone run the longer...
Who do you guys recommend nowadays for multi-stage shock valving stacks on the following shocks? I would do it myself, but can't seem to find any good specs out there (they keep them to themselves for obvious reasons). My preference has been Bruce Schrader of Pioneer, but of course he quit :(...
Warning: This mechanic is very slow and takes long breaks between progress !!!
After several years of hard riding it is time to tear this sled down and go through everything. It only has about 9K miles on it, but it has had a few tumbles during that time including an unintentional...
I am not sure what happened this year, but an XTX skid in an 02 Viper that used to ride fairly well went really bad this year. I had spent quite a bit of time tuning it to get it where I liked it, but then on a very rough trail this year I had to turn the compression almost to max and set the...
Which models have a split throttle block that can be installed on hooked bars? I think pretty much all of the 4-strokes but can't really tell for sure. After some time searching the parts catalog and looking at sleds I think I will just ask.
I am retrofitting hooked bars on a Viper so will...
