I've always run my tracks to spec. Seems like the only spot that ever wears over the years is at the bend on the rail. I usually get 4,000 to 5,000 miles on my Hyfax regardless of Dupont or OEM. I run mostly U.P groomed trails.
Not sure there is a great solution to the wear at the bend. It's...
184 miles, I’d keep it and go if the oil level is good. So many good oils on market but it’s a personal decision. I think we often over think a lot of this stuff.
So I know this was mainly a review about the CKX Mission but since I purchased the BRP Oxygen helmet and just used it for a week in the Keweenaw figured I’d share my thoughts.
The helmet is top notch quality, first thing I noticed when I put it on outside is just how much more field of view I...
I returned my scorpion helmet as I found it to be too cold.
I took the plunge and bought the oxygen helmet. Will be using for a week in U.P starting tomorrow.
I think I will be happy, quality seems rock solid.
I'm running Sena 20S Evo communicators which have a small speaker the size of a 50 cent coin or so.
I wanted a helmet that had recessed area in foam for speakers so they don't press on the ear. Mission didn't have that, they just had a small area with a flap that held the speaker but it was...
Well, I ended up with a Scorpion EXO-AT950. Very happy with the helmet. Nice color scheme, comfortable, has recessed pockets for communicators price was $359.

Liked the Oxygen Helmet but felt...
Hated tuners but loved my Curve skis... If you are looking for lighter steering I'd play with the center skid shock pre-load to dial in to desired ski pressure. Overall, the Curve skis handled way better and I ran slim jim dooley's...
I have a set on my wife's polaris Rush (short track) They have worked fine and I like them mostly for loading and around the garage on concrete. We don't use them a ton at Gas stations or road crossings because it's such a short stint that we don't bother getting off the sled and do the work...
I didn't pull the trigger last season on a helmet. Still like the Mission but the Oxygen is super comfortable. That said, I notice that depending on the size of the windshield and if airflow is hitting my face or chest it will dictate the amount of wind noise on most of my helmets.
I recently...
Nobody is going to crash due to the screen. I've had a GPS on my Viper since 2015 and never look at it until I stop at an intersection.
I've been a Yamaha fan for many years and enjoyed my Viper but with the Arctic Cat agreement I was tired of not having anything meaningful new from Yamaha.
So...
No doubt the sidewinder is a speed demon. I'd like to see Yamaha address issues such as:
- OEM skis that work
- Improved rider ergonomics
- Technology advances such as touch screens with GPS maps installed
- Improved chassis designs - other OEM's continue to improve and evolve their design
-...
Unfortunately there is not enough new updates, changes, advances in technology going on with Yamaha sleds IMO. I've seen this "new stickers" show too long and will be trying another brand this year. Since the partnership with Cat we basically seen the same stuff for years. I loved my Viper...
I’m so tired of the lack of product from Yamaha that I’m about to snow check a Polaris 2 stroke this year. Just not happy with lack of development from Yamaha.
