I am having both bulkhead halves replaced in my 07 Attak by an independant mechanic. I want to buy all of the parts and bring them to him so that I am sure he uses the correct fasteners and such.
How many rivets, what size and where to buy?
I guess the bottom line is that as long as there is some kind of lubricant you will be fine. I am comfortable with the price and performance of the Mobil 1, so that is what I choose to use. It's all personal preference and there really isn't a wrong choice if you use what you want to.
Unless...
Why? To pay twice as much for an inferior product? It's possible that there isn't a dealer nearby, as it is in my situation.
Everybody has their own preferences and opinions and that's how it should be.
As for me, I use a higher quality product and pay less (Mobil 1). Is it the best there...
Ok, thanks. I kind of found the same thing. Went to official yamaha parts site, it shows that the number changed but the new number is the same - 20 number lol. Must be a typo.
I'm going to go ahead and install it.
a bit of searching on the net shows that this filter is most commonly used as a "marine Grade" filter. Boat motors use the number ending in 50.
So, do I install it? The dealer is an hour away, and my oil is drained. There is no snow here so I am not in a rush to finish, but I also don't like...
Wife picked me up a filter today for my 07 Attak. Manual says to use 5GH-13440-20. The dealer gave her a 5GH-13440-50. She questioned him on it, he told her it is the same thing.
That just doesn't cut it for me. Is it the same filter with an updated number, or is it a filter for a different...
I'm getting it tomorrow. Ended up trading the guy one of my 1990 phazer II's for some more money off the asking price.
Mono shock has been revalved, updated yamaha skid parts (arms) installed at that time, and skid was powdercoated. Looks like it's in good shape. I didn't check the a arms...
I am definately planning on buying it, already pre-approved for whatever I need to borrow from the bank. Just don't want to jump into it without knowing what to look for.
Currently own an 03 RX-1. Am looking at an 07 Attak this evening at 5pm. 6k miles, asking price is $3750. New exhaust and donuts at 5k miles. Chaincase fully replaced 3 years ago, blew apart on the guy.
Anything I should specifically look for? I can't really ride it around, no snow.
The carbs have been synced, just forgot to mention it in the original post. Carb cleaning, syncing, and new plugs make no difference. The idle has done this since I bought the sled used last February.
This can't be right. Idle is hunting. Carbs are spotless, pilots clear, verified with carb cleaner spray through carb body. Could this be coils? Plugs are fairly new, made no difference when I put new plugs in. The idle has done this since I bought the sled last year. I'm thinking coils, but I...
Going to bump this up. I also just purchased this "universal" tool, and now I see that it measures a different way than Yamaha does. WTH. I have an 03 RX1 and 2 1990 Phazer II's to align.
Did you figure out how to make the tool work correctly?
Colorrite does have the paint, but there is no way he will spring for it. Much too expensive for him.

Thanks for the suggestions :-)
I totally agree that powdercoating is the way to go, and when my RX1 needs it it will get it.
The Nytro is my buddies sled, and he is kind of a cheapskate. Not as far as mechanically, but stuff like the paint on his a-arms. I'm working on him to beautify his...
Yep, trail is included when you pay the $78 3 year fee. You can get a registration with no trail for something like $55.
My question is this -
How much can us guys in MN trim the stickers down? Do they have to be full size, or can we trim them to be the same size as our registration numbers?
