So I just picked up a leftover 2018 sidewinder XTX 137. Got it home: no free sag, bottoms out to the coupler blocks when standing on it and rebounds extremely slow when I get off it. Can’t seem to bounce on it in the garage.
Brought it back to dealer and they think this is just the way Yamaha...
So I just picked up a 2018 viper rtx. I used to have a 2014 LTX-Se. Noticed this sled doesn’t have an exhaust temp sensor...just a bolt in the spot where my last sled had the sensor.
Is this something that was stripped? Can I simply add one and is there a pigtail I can plug it into? Dealer not...
In the market for a new viper. Not seeing any threads nor online reviews on the base model RTX and LTX. I’m thinking it’s a good value and a quick/easy project to upgrade the basic stock front shocks. I have a couple questions if anyone can help me out:
1. Safe to assume that all the kinks of...
I’m interested in purchasing a 2016 viper rtx-le in white/red. Tough to find a specific used spring-order model. Figured I’d pool the masses.
Looking locally (New England)
Would consider LTX or XTX, turbo/non-turbo doesn’t matter.
Thx
So I've reviewed many threads on some of these topics, but wasn't able to get all of my questions answered. In short, I am contemplating building up a base 2018 Viper LTX or a 2017 leftover vs. just buying a Sidewinder. (Turbo, shocks, wrap, etc) I had a new 14 LTX-SE for one season and despite...
How the heck do you hook up a new throttle cable under the hood w/o taking off the radiator or air box? Other guys claim to be able but I'm at a loss here. That being said: Anyone know the 'clean' process for draining the coolant to take the radiator off?
I am currently trying to install an MTX...
How can we not believe that AC will be building a whole new sled platform with Yamaha for 2017 or 2018 after reading this article...my money is on a new chassis that they share with completely different plastics for each brand.
Yamaha has already launched a new high-rev engine in their new YXZ...
anyone know if the new viper and nytro have the same size front shocks? I am interested in picking up the new fox coil overs from the 2016 rtx-se for my 14 nytro XTX.
So I picked up a 14 nytro XTX 1.75 at the beginning of the season. I am loving the sled more and more as I get it dialed in, but really want to install easily adjustable front shocks on the sled. I've been looking at expensive Axis and Elka options as I really want a coil-over. I did not love...
Hey Guys - Picked up a leftover 2014 nytro xtx 1.75 for this season - I just finished break-in and would like to handle the oil change myself. I know there are some detailed threads on here on that procedure, but I would still like to get my hands on a Yamaha Service Manual specific to my sled...
Hey Guys,
Just came in from a 50 mile ride. After stopping and restarting at 40 miles, the sled was idling at 860 RPM and continued to drop to that level every time I stopped. Sounded like it was about to stall. Once getting back to the house I shut it off and restarted....back to idling at...
I just came in from my first 50 miles. I can't get it over 80 mph but I am attributing that to softer snow and that it's not broken in yet. But I do have 2 legitimate concerns I was hoping you guys could help me with: 1. Engine Braking? My sled slows itself down like crazy when I left off the...
So I had to adjust my chain tensioner 6 full turns after 35 miles. I also had to go to the local cat dealer for my new exhaust gasket and took the liberty to buy all of the ones they'd had in stock....(sorry xf7000 owners)
Anyone know the proper torque spec on the three bolts that hold the...
So I made mention of this in another thread, but I think it warrants it's own discussion. I am coming off a Ski Doo so I am unaware of whether or not this is normal with Yamahas. Every time I let off the throttle on my viper the primary clutch slams back to disengage and makes a very loud bang...
Anyone found any easy way to remove factory bag on tunnel without removing the gas tank to drill out the rivets? I also noticed that I should be replacing the rivets after since they hold on the channel that covers the brake light wiring. None know what size rivets these are?
We'll she finally arrived. Got her home to look through and began installing accessories earlier today. Will post pics in a few days once all my extras are installed.
Initial Review: looks like I got lucky, no cross threaded torx bolts or stripped heads in the removal process. All clamps on...
Do we know how many vipers were built in total/per model? Also, does anyone know how to decipher the VIN?
We know the cats were built first correct?
I don't know about your sleds but my stock muffler has arctic cat stamped into the side. Did I get one of the first ones built and they used...
Well...I am still waiting. Dealer told me my sled shipped last Monday. I am in Boston and can't seem to understand why 2 weeks have passed and still no viper. Anyone else on here in New England experiencing the same problem? I am getting closer and closer to either snagging that leftover nytro...
So I admittedly envy ski doo's linq system and wish there was a way I could make use of that extra space on the rear of my ltx se for a fuel caddy of sorts without installing a large tunnel rack and strapping a gas tank down.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket low-profile fuel caddy system...
