Mine does the same thing some days. I have found that after a no start scenario like yours I will charge the battery for a bit, after that it will fire up right away. I am assuming the voltage is just a little low to run something properly????
Mine squealed for a bit and then blew up also. I did not have any issues with oil flow. Mine only lasted about 1200 miles and is now collecting dust on the shelf

If you want to run 10-12 psi I would add injectors to your list. I ran 13psi on pump gas with your above list with injectors and controlled fuel with a PCV but left the timing stock.
