Does this need the sealer in there around the coolant hose? I pulled the old sealer out to put in the BOP tunnel hose protectors to see how they fit and then forgot to put new sealant in and put sled back together. It's not to big of deal to take back apart but was just wondering if anyone else...
I have a 2014 Apex SE and was wondering how often should I open up the chaincase and check the gears and chain? The sled has 6400 trouble free miles on it and is completely stock with no studs. I do change the chaincase fluid once a year and it never looks bad. I would also like to say that this...
2014 Apex SE with 6000 miles, anything I should look for or replace in the off season? This sled has been flawless, the best sled I have ever owned period (thank you Yamaha). I do the normal oil and filter change and repack bearings but didnt know if there was anything else to check for. How...
Anyone know of a good place to stay in Houghton MI that is next to the snowmobile trails? Looks like winter is done around here and Im not ready to put the sleds away yet. I gots to ride!!
I have a very small oil leak where the oil case seals against the chaincase and was wondering if I could use the 1194 sealer? I have been watching this leak for some time now and it is definitely leaking around where it connects to the chaincase. I know I should take it in for warranty work but...
Does anyone know torque specs on the chaincase screws. I pulled my case apart to change chaincase oil and clean it up in there and now i cant find torque specs. They were on pretty tight.
Is it worth the price of doing this extension. Was told by someone at tracks usa that i would not have to do the tunnel extension? Just looking to get more track on the snow. I would like to put the ice attack xt track on.
What is needed to tilt the handlebars back a little more, an adjustable riser adapter? I'm about 5' 4" so where the bars set I ride very close to the gas tank, I would let to set back a little bit more. Did not know if it was possible without extending the t cable and e brake? Also would like...
Going into 3rd season with my 2014 Apex SE with about 3300 miles and I have had no problems whatsoever! I have had Arctic Cat, Polaris and several Ski- Doo's and they just don't hold up to the reliability of a Yamaha. Now, I hear how everyone talks about how nice riding the r-motion...
I put just over 2000 trouble free miles on this stock sled last winter. My riding style is mostly groomed rails to trails so its pretty much always going in a straight line. Sometimes I have to run ice covered roads from trail to trail and that gets a little scary with no studs! My question is...
After owning Polaris, Arctic Cat, and Ski-Doo snowmobiles for the past 30 years, my boss talked me into buying a Yamaha snowmobile last year. I ended up spring checking the 2014 Apex SE. Now I'm here to tell you that this is the best sled I have ever owned period!! I put on 2036 trouble free...
Just wondering how a 2014 Apex SE stacks up against a 2013 arctic cat turbo? I'll be riding with a co worker who has a turbo and I would hate to race him if he will smoke me ! Miles on the sleds are both around 400. Any thoughts? Thanks.
I've read the manual and I know what the mechanic told me about the break-in miles on a new 4 stroke, but does anybody have other ways of engine break-in? I'm not putting a load on it or holding full throttle. Keeping it below 6000 rpm for the first 100 miles or so is tough! Wasn't sure about 4...
Where does everyone put there registration sticker on the Apex? I wasn't sure if it would stick to the lower front half of the sled because of the rough texture panels.
Just picked up my 2014 Yamaha Apex SE, anything I should know about this sled or anything to watch for? I've always rode two strokes and never been on a four stroke. My riding style is 99% groomed trails (rails to trails).
