The little plastic I’ve circled is busted on one side and want to replace it but I can’t find it on a parts diagram. It’s the black plastic piece the push pin goes through.
If anyone knows a part number that would be great.
Does anyone remember what the bulb types are that these sleds run? I want to order a replacement and can’t get to the sled atm. Also do you think I need two new ballasts or just the one that goes out first?
Okay so before I just rip the dash out and install a 40” light bar to be dramatic someone tell me why my hids hate me this year.
I installed a set of ddm tuning hids two years ago in my 2010 vector that worked great until the end of last season. When you start the sled they both fire up then...
My theory would be to tap the starter for a couple seconds every hour for a few hours to rotate the coolant. Assuming there's a pump that should get it rotated a little bit.
I like the ride when it starts. Starting it is the only complaint I have. When it ate the starter (original with 3000 miles on it) I had the sled hooked up to with jumpers to my truck to make sure it had enough juice.
My usual start problem is the stupid oil light being on despite the thing...
I wouldn't choose to ride in -50 but there's been several times I've had to. The problem with a battery tender is it wouldn't provide any heat to the motor. At -50 those engine blocks are not happy to be turned over. Ate my starter and stripped the gears. Trying to avoid a repeat of that.
Also...
Yeah that's what I'm talking about. I have one on my apex and vector works like a charm. Is the Vipers coolant hose larger and therefore it wouldn't work?
I figured someone on here would have already tried this and could post the results
Has anyone put one of the in line coolant heaters in their viper? If so does it work on really cold night like it does on Apex and vectors?
Trying to figure out a way to not have to worry when it's -50 next winter.
My issue was chain got put in but the oil didn't lol. Actually it had a small crack that it ran out of, once that case got super warm from running it apparently was killing the gas mileage. They don't put oil in there for its looks.
The irony is they have always been good to me but they're a small emphasis small dealer. They've only sold 3 vipers and aren't aware of the starter issues.
Called the dealer yesterday they told me to call Yamaha corporate see if they would cover it. I debated taking my Apex instead but wanted to be able to play out in the powder.
If you were closer I'd swap you my crossover track. Works great btw on the hardpack and a few ft of snow. Over 3 ft my vector with the backcountry does better
What did you say/do to get them to take care of it? Drove 8 hours yesterday to ride into Canada today and my starter took a #*$&@ leaving me with no sled. So mad right now $2000 trip down the tube.
