Spit my track today! Track had 8-10k miles but looked mint. Just added drivers that turn track through the windows 200 miles ago and now this!
How do I determine what pitch track and drivers I have?
Was hard on it today heat cycling brakes, belt and track all day on and off gas and brakes in...
Just got it done. Bolt was rusted in place. Got it with lube, patience and air hammer working it back and fourth little at a time etc.
All we did was pull clutches and belly pan and both motor mounts and i was able to finagle both my hands in there from different angle while my buddy relieved...
08 Nytro Rtx trying to install and new starter now.
Stuck on removing the back motor mount. Got the nut off but can’t push bolt back through.
Seems siezed or something more to the removal process??
Thanks for any help and input.
Excellent thanks for all the good ideas. We worked together at a Yamaha dealership together back in 2006 is how I met him. We ride street bikes, dirt bikes and sleds together ever since. He was a service tech then. He continued to always work out of his garage. Thanks for all the replies
So I have a 08 Nytro RTX and doing some needed work and some maintenance as well.
I am having a qualified friend do it for me. I trust him and he is alway good to me.
However our hardest thing is trying to figure a fair price for both parties. We both have a hard time with this.
Work I am...
It’s simple they misrepresented the part and also sold me a faulty part that never should of made it through quality control. I understand parts can fail with time and leave you stranded or what not. I don’t expect to be sold a part that never should have made it out the plant. This should not...
Hell no. Learned my lesson the hard way I guess. Had no idea it wasn’t oem. Had a Yamaha part number listed. Got screwed. I was searching for my exact part number after checking the parts fiche. How would I have known this was the risk?
Anyone know how to manually try and turn a stuck starter by hand? Where is starter located and how does it crank motor off primary like a two stroke with a gear in clutch?
Did you have any recourse from the company that sold you the cheap part that caused all your problems and money spent you shouldn’t have? Wish we could sue them so they can pay for repairs and parts. I would drive through the front of their store if they were local!!
FML... you just described what happened to me EXACTLY! Bought a cheap knock of starter relay that failed and melted wires and solenoid. Replaced starter solenoid now with oem and replaced all wires and connections except the wire to the starter. That wire got hot so may have fried the starter...
Once u get a power wire real hot won’t it loose its ability to transfer current properly? My guess is it’s either that or the starter but I am no expect! LOL
Tightened all bolts on battery tore apart my ground spilce to check that. It looked fine.
Used multi meter on battery when cranking and all seemed fine. Don’t think it even dropped below 12 volts. Checked for power with dummy light from battery and worked my way to starter solenoid. Battery...
Sounds good. I have some time tonight so I am going to check the things you mentioned and more. Thanks for pointers and guidance. I will keep you updated. Got company coming sat eve so hope it works out!!
I go to start my sled with new starter solenoid and some new wires.
Power comes on normal with key.
Fuel pumps cycles as normal.
After fuel system has been primed.
I turn key further to start and it clicks once and then proceeds to cut all power like a momentary type kill switch.
Let...
That battery didn’t open up. Just melted the lead on terminal a little and melted all the wires around it. Where do I locate the fuse that is meant to blow in this type of situation etc?
08 Nytro fried a cheap starter solenoid and fried some wires and such. Pulled power wire and sled killed. Least it died at same time.
Got new oem part and replaced bad wires or cut them back and added in new pieces. Hooked up new part but no power? Battery has juice.
What should I check or...
