I'm curious how Trackers work on the Curve ski compared to slim dually's? Is there a major effect on steering effort? It's not that I feel they steer exceptionally hard, but I do find it much more fatiguing than the Doo with trackers. Some is noise and vibration I'm sure.
Haven't seen anything in a while, but I know we've seen posts of the rear tunnel extension buckling when cargo is added. I'm curious though if a 129 can carry a bit of load? Thinking of adding one of those linq brackets. I'd guess that a larger fuel caddy would be pushing the weight limit...
Most of my starts this season have been from inside heated shop. Recently I moved it outside. One time I started at -21°f as a test and ran up to operating temp. I don't know that I took it out after that. I do know that I moved it to a different spot outside. The other day I started it and...
I've never liked the engagement on my Viper. Hard to tell if its throttle control related or clutching, but you can't creep up on it. It seems to hit a point then take off. Almost acts like a notched weight but with engine response so touchy I have to wonder could it be partly clutch weight...
Had my first no start the other day. Cold sled no fuel pump. Thankfully I have the BOP relay relocation deal. Swapped the fuel pump relay with the fan relay. I figured that by the time the fan would be needed the relay should be warmed enough.
Figured I had better ask: Any new info like a...
What do you consider "cool" clutch temps and how quickly do they cool?
Reason I ask is I'm working on my clutching and I believe my temps are down nicely but is my method valid? Last night I rode home from club meeting and worked it out fairly hard. Then I had about 1/4 mile of easy going into...
I have the EVO stage 2.5 flash in my Viper. It was done in Dec of 15 which I believe isbefore the confusion of the Factory update flash. It starts OK, but I do see that at times it does seem to pause/reluct and occasionally fires with a pop out the exhaust. I suppose about all I can do is try...
Had the Viper in for a pre season check over and to tighten clamps in search of a coolant leak. When I stood on the boards and rocked side to side I had loud clicking/popping from the front. Had to get a helper to rock while I looked. Turns out the bolts where the sway bar links attach to the...
Curious what is involved with doing a 1 in 1 out head stud installation on the Viper? I've heard easy, and I've heard that engine needs to be moved and possibly cam/gears in the way for access.
A while back I read an interesting article at Arctic Insider about changes made to the 2016 model skids.:

I have the skid out to revalve the shocks and figured I would revisit this. I asked...
Any tips for the reinstallation? In the past I have struggled with getting the skid pulled back against the track to get the front arm hooked. I'm doing this with a lift hanging the rear and the skis on the ground/dollies. Thinking maybe if I were to tie the front arm down/limiter strap this...
Some of us have upgraded our rear skid shocks to DSC over the single knob that they came with. This makes accessing the rear clickers a major pain. I recently had my shocks out and sent to Carver Performance for a revalve adjustment. In talking to Mike he mentioned a new end cap that had the...
I am at a crossroads. I need to replace my track due to lugs tearing off. Two seasons is definitely not that great, but from what I understand it is characteristic of the hard rubber compound used in these tracks.
My question is primarily focused on those who own one of these with the 1.75...
Looking at buying one of the jump packs. I figured it would be handy to have one packed on the sled and maybe keep in the trucks as well. Looking at the Micro Start XP-1 at about $75. Looking for feedback on how well these things work and last. Also any insight as to how to avoid knock offs...
Last season I kept the Viper in the garage as I developed the EZ Oil drain. It got to a point where I finally decided it wasn't worth bringing trailer home and loading up any more so the Doo and the trailer were stored away in the storage garage while the Viper sat around collecting dust for...
The entire northern 2/3-3/4 of the state is now open! Portage is still gray, but just needs updated.

Well I'm going to try the level 2.5 and see how it does. I've done everything else pretty methodically so now it is time so I rang up Ulmer and got things rolling. Time to tempt fate for shipping delays due to weather. Time to test turn around time at Evo. I'm one day away so I shipped UPS...
I took my Raytek out and shot my clutch engine cold in garage 62°f matched ambient so I know that there are not emissivity issues with reading the surface.
After running hard a bit plus a couple minutes of cool down the Primary tends to run 150°f depending where you shoot it. The further out...
