2016 Viper LTX DX. I usually shake the sled good before starting but forgot this time. I now just refill and drive, then clean out everything when I do an oil change. Happened outside twice but one on the shop floor, oily mess! Has anyone put in the updated part which is supposed to fix the issue?
I just turned 12,500 miles on my 2016 LTX DX. What maintenance should i be doing on the clutch I have done nothing but clean and change a few belts. only blew one belt in 12,500 miles. Sled runs great still.
I changed the bearings on my 2016 at 11,000 miles. The clutch side can be regreased quite easily. I pulled the chain case apart due to a reverse issue and did them because everything was apart.
I had trouble similar to yours and found it took awhile to run that crap gas through. Changed plugs and used a high quality injector cleaner, fixed the problem. I change the plugs every year. It's a cheap maintenance thing. Plugs do go bad on a four stroke sometimes.
My 2016 has always taken 3-5 sec to start (12,000 miles) even when warmed up. Had trouble with cold weather one year and I changed the plugs and problem solved. I change the plugs every couple of thousand miles now. I'm outside of Wpg. and we get some cold here. I started with the cheapest fix...
I run semi-agressives on my 2016 LTX-DX and they are amazing in the trails. They grab in reverse on my wood floor and coming off the trailer so I mounted some plastic runners for that.
Has anyone tried the manual shift lever from Barn of Parts? Does it work? Pros and cons if there are any. Getting a little tired of my 2016LTX-DX only going into reverse when it feels like it. What an awful design.
My 2016 LTX DX turns over 4-5 seconds then starts and usually stalls once. Has always done it. The new flash is supposed to solve that issue and up the performance a bit. Who knows what that means. If it will start better then my starter should last longer.
I just read on Hard Core Sledder that there is a flash for 2021 Vipers. Anybody know the real story? It is supposed to improve the cold weather starting ( I'm in Manitoba, we get lots of -30c ) , and improve the performance to Nytro power and speed. I'm going to take to my dealer too.
Had a similar problem with my 2016 LTX after tipping over on the right side. Took it to the dealer as I could not get it to run properly. He Played with the thumb throttle and just reset it on the cable at the throttle. Took him about 5 seconds...perfect after that.
Noticed a huge amount of snow and ice underneath on my 2016 LTX. Solved that problem right away with some black Gorilla tape. I covered all the openings I could see, and put some on the edges of the rubber boots. Never had a buildup since.
I put semi aggressive Trackers on my 2016 LTX DX. Turns like a race car on the trails......they hate reverse coming out of my shed! I only run them after we have a good base of snow. I run Doolys 6" until then, they do not turn near as well. Trackers for sure!
I have a 2016 LTX DX and had the turn over a bunch of times before starting thing too. I thought maybe clogged injectors might be part of it. I put a double dose of XP3 fuel treatment in two tanks of fuel. Starts better. Cheap fix and it seems to have worked for me.
I have tightened the nut on the bottom of the steering column once a few years ago, play has come back but cannot tighten the nut now. The nut turns and won't snug up. Is there a way to get the nut to tighten up....maybe a wrench on the top of the column? used a quick burst on the drill but no...
I have the cable type scratchers on the skid and leave them down all the time. Have never had an overheat issue yet. Only gets hot when idling too long on a warm day. Another plus is I just put on new stock sliders after over 7,000 miles. The old ones were not even that bad.
I put Snowtracker semi-aggressive on my tuner skis (2016 Viper LTX-DX) and they are fantastic on the trails. Turns like its on rails. The Trackers don't like reverse very much! The Tuner skis are not good in deep snow. I am looking for a better combo of both conditions but love how the Trackers...
Just saw a snowmobile show this morning about brakes. One suggestion to cure brake fade was to put a heavier brake fluid in to prevent the fluid from boiling and causing brake fade. I didn't know there was a heavier fluid.. My Viper recently had a total failure of the master cylinder...
