I'm currently installing one on my Phazer but haven't finished yet.
It's going to have to be cut down to fit the 15" track in the Phazer tunnel made for a 14" track.
I figured your thread could use a bump.
Hopefully they're good. The prices don't seem to be that much different from Camso...
Have you tried upping the compression damping?
Too much spring is going to affect your rebound and make it bouncy. If you can get the correct ride height with the spring somewhere in the middle of its preload the spring is likely not the issue. If you have to max out spring preload then there's...
Given the amount of disassembly required to change the oil filter on a Phazer I doubt cost to repair is much of a factor in design decisions.
Once you've bought it they have you by the short and curlies.
Snowmobile manufacturers are invested in tooling and a workforce to make aluminum snowmobiles.
Buying all the tooling and hiring or retraining workers to make things any other way (carbon) would be expensive and that price would be passed on to consumers in a market where the economy is rough...
Funny, there's been some talk in the cycling world that we're getting close to the point where carbon frames are going to be cheaper to make than aluminum ones within the next few years.
Carbon is certainly making its way down into the less expensive higher-end bikes where aluminum used to rule...
Ah, I get it, The idea was to thread something through the zerk hole in the outer shaft to push against the inner shaft and stop it spinning but the grease filling is likely to be welded in so that won't work.
Now that I understand how the whole thing is put together and what I'm dealing with...
Hmm, I couldn't feel anything turning underneath but maybe I was feeling in the wrong place.
If there's a grease fitting on the shaft that's spinning I can probably just hold the shaft with a strap-wrench and get the bolt out since it's already partially unscrewed I shouldn't have to use enough...
I'm in the process of installing a new track on my '07 Mtn Lite.
One of the four bolts that hold the suspension in the tunnel (the left front one) won't come out.
It loosened several turns (about 5mm out) and just spins without unthreading any further.
I initially thought I'd stripped it but...
I have a bottle of the Yamaha stuff ready for when I change the track this summer but I'm a bit concerned over how much thinner it seems compared to 75w90 gear oil (although this is based on shaking a closed bottle so not exactly scientific).
It seems to me that thicker (to a point) would be...
Careful with the Lucas stuff, it's probably less of an issue in a non-pumped lubrication system but it has a reputation for diluting the anti-foaming additives in the oil. Air doesn't lubricate as well as oil so...
I could swear I read this here somewhere but can't seem to find it anymore. either on TY4Stroke or through Google.
The original track in my '07 Mountain Lite has degraded to the point it's pretty much a 1/2 inch lug track now.
I bought a Composit C45 (1.77" lug height) which should be a good...
