Big,
What speedometer numbers are you generating with you MPI 180? I can only see 180 km top end. My clutched SRX's were much faster on the top.
I am thinking about machining the clutches for 8dn belt, clutch kit (need to know which one is the best), and Hurricane exhaust mod and mapped...
Wow, that sounds impressive! If you are at 20km then it sounds worth it to keep my sled and bring it up to extreme standard.
My GEMS is still working, but if the new controller, injectors and exhaust mod make it that much better it sounds worth it. I will do some research on Thunder Products...
Gentleman,
This is my third season of riding my 2015 MPI Turbo Viper XTX (7500kms) without any issues....basically put gas in it and go. I have had zero time tinkering, modding, reading about the sled until I started to do a teardown on maintenance last week. I read that MPI is out of...
I have always used 1/4 inch toe out on every sled (which has been quite a few) I have owned. I always used a straight edge along the track, otherwise it is difficult to reference consistently. My Nytro feels like I have power steering...super light yet still can corner, but the Viper, not so...
A little bit of an improvement compared to my 2003 Mountain Max from back in the day! Sharp looking unit with some tech! Let's see if that motor can last as long as the old uni triple single!
I blew out a couple of sets of ball joints on my sled. Ever since installed a Mountaintech front end I've had no more issues. The A arms don't use that type of ball joint and I have not had an issue since after thousands of kms. The stock ball joint on the stock A arm really doesn't last all...
Went for a quick ice fish and then decided to go for a top speed run on the lake into the sunset.
Considering only going by the dreameter, I hit 163 km/h. I was happy with that.
Its true lol! My buddy's father in law is his neighbour. He used it a lot for fishing was always hauling a sleigh. No different than me I guess. I used my SRX's to go high performance ice fishing as well (without a sleigh).
Thanks for the input aetick!
I have no idea what the clutching is...the person I bought it from didn't have a clue. All he mentioned that the dealer said primary needed a lot of weight and a Sidewinder spring was installed in the secondary. I hate not knowing what is going on in there so I...
Gems lol! This is why I posted my question(s). I have no idea what Gems stands for (I will google). I know lots about sleds and do my own wrenching, but know zero about turbo chargers. Any information on what the "gems" should be set at would be much appreciated. Sorry guys for being so out...
I have an Arctic Cat M8 skid with custom aluminum drop brackets installed in my 2004 RX1 mountain. It's been so long I barely remember doing it lol!
From what I remember, I used the stock front holes, had spacers manufactured for the inside of the tunnel because the tunnel at the front is...
Hey guys,
I bought a 2015 Viper XTX MPI turbo (Yamaha dealer installed with 6000 kms) a few weeks ago. All I have had time to do is turn the key and hammer the throttle. So far so good.
Just wondering if there are any known issues or any preventative maintenance I should do. I am new the...
I received information that MPS is available for the 15 Viper (without having to do any spindle mod/change). I will research reviews. Hopefully I can find reviews specifically for the Viper.
This sled came with Fox Float 3's so I will pump up the front skid shock. That was my initial plan, BUT when I discovered info on MPS on the Sidewinders, I started "falling off the wagon". My addiction (to mods) started to take over my life (and finances) once again.
I recently picked up a 2015 Viper XTX MPI Turbo. I have been riding around on the lakes and bush trails and notice the steering is pretty stiff, especially when riding narrow bush whacking trails. Not thinking much about it, I hop back on my Nytro MTX and the steering is extremely light. So...
Well, it was a dead battery. I guess the fuel injection gets shut down after battery goes below a certain voltage. I am up and running again .
Not sure how the rest of the world is doing with snow, but I have put more gas through my snowblower than my vehicles and sleds combined!
