Gentleman,
This is my third season of riding my 2015 MPI Turbo Viper XTX (7500kms) without any issues....basically put gas in it and go. I have had zero time tinkering, modding, reading about the sled until I started to do a teardown on maintenance last week. I read that MPI is out of...
Went for a quick ice fish and then decided to go for a top speed run on the lake into the sunset.
Considering only going by the dreameter, I hit 163 km/h. I was happy with that.
Hey guys,
I bought a 2015 Viper XTX MPI turbo (Yamaha dealer installed with 6000 kms) a few weeks ago. All I have had time to do is turn the key and hammer the throttle. So far so good.
Just wondering if there are any known issues or any preventative maintenance I should do. I am new the...
I recently picked up a 2015 Viper XTX MPI Turbo. I have been riding around on the lakes and bush trails and notice the steering is pretty stiff, especially when riding narrow bush whacking trails. Not thinking much about it, I hop back on my Nytro MTX and the steering is extremely light. So...
While riding down the lake my sled started missing. I hammered on the throttle to try to clear things up and the sled just died and coassted to a halt .I tried restarting and nothing. The battery then died shortly after and u didn't turn it over much at all.
I had to walk out a few...
While ripping down the lake my sled started missing a little bit. I hammered on the throttle to try to clear it up. Then the sled died completely,. Totally shut down. I tried restarting and it just turned over. Then the battery complet Ely died and I didn't turn it over very much. I ended up...
I posted this in the Mountain forum, but decided to post on this forum also because I have never seen a real mountain.....
I received a set of Mountaintech 38" wide 3+ forward A arms with stabilizer bar mounts on Monday. I installed MPI oilite bushings and got everything mounted on the sled...
I received a set of Mountaintech 38" wide 3+ forward A arms with stabilizer bar mounts on Monday. I installed MPI oilite bushings and got everything mounted on the sled. I am extremely impressed with the quality and build design. The ball joints are super heavy duty and make the Yamaha ball...
I am thinking about ordering/installing Excell wheels on my 2008 Nytro MTX. I know there are Kimpex, Doo/Poo wheels I can use also. I had Kimpex on my SRX for thousands of kilometres with no issues. Anyway, I have a total of 8 wheels in my skid....6 on the outside and 2 on the inside. Do I...
Well, I finally received my used parts from Montana and installed a replacement lower a arm and shock on my Nytro. The day after Boxing day I nailed a pressure ridge on the lake. It felt like I hit the Great Wall of China. I bent and twisted the lower a arm and the shock. I thought for sure...
I bent my lower a-arm on my Nytro MTX. I am on the hunt for a replacement, but when I do find one I want to remove the Ulmer bushings from the bent one and re-install into the used one. Has anyone done this? I am just thinking of taking a punch to try popping them out.
Dealer sold me Duponts for my Nytro MTX 153. He said they will fit. I put them by my sled and seem an inch or a little more short. Is that okay if they are a little short exposing so rail at the rear? I usually cut my slides flush with the rail.
Yep, I ordered the Hurricane/Hindle/PC5/Airbox mod today! I spoke with Dave and Elaine and they were great to deal with! I can't wait. I will be ordering a clutch kit from Allen Ulmer tomorrow. Merry Christmas to me!!

Does anyone know what the measurement is for the steering rods for an 09 MTX and up?
I have an 08 and apparently the steering rods are longer. I need to cut mine down to 09+ specs. Mine are powdercoated so I don't want to buy new/used ones. The left and right are differents lengths also...
I installed my new Slydog 8" Powderhounds and my MTX now darts like crazy. It was almost to the point where I felt like I was going to be thrown from the sled while standing up. The skis have Woody's 4" carbides. Can these skis be shimmed? The sled never darted with shimmed Yamaha mountain skis.
I have a stock shocks on my Nytro MTX. They are run of the mill shocks with what looks like some sort of bleeder nut at the top. Can these shocks be rebuilt or throw them in the dump?
With the install of my JRE spindles on my 2008 Nytro MTX, I have a positive camber which appears to be out by a half an inch (12.7mm). This is just an eyeball guesstimate. I know with the initial 2008 ball joint mod, the instructions called for a 2.5mm removal of metal to bring the spindle to...
I posted this on the Nytro forum simply because there are more users there. I would like some input from MTX guys if possible.
