    prefilter hack?

Hey guys, last year in a cataclysmic crash I lost the prefilter off the intake for my turbo. I've ordered a replacement (weeks ago!) and it's still weeks away but we've got plenty of snow and I'd really like to get out with some friends this weekend. Is there anything you guys know of that...

Is your current Yamaha really that bad?

I've been riding a 2010 turbo'ed nytro for the past year with almost 9000k on it. Is it heavy compared to an 800 Doo? Yes. Does it float on the powder the same way? No. On the flip side, when squeezing the throttle at 3000 rpm does it pull hard and consistent all the way up to red line...

    Flipped Nytro oil leak

No. I can tell by the list at the bottom of your post you value your sled lol.. I signed up for it by taking a greenhorn out I guess. Any other advice?

    Flipped Nytro oil leak

Hey guys, Let's say I hypothetically took a friend out sledding and he hypothetically dumped my Nytro xtx on it's side... repeatedly. Oil of course spilled out due to the lack of a rollover valve. I've pulled the covers off and cleaned the godawful mess out of the engine area, but is there...

About threads in aluminum steering linkage

After a catastrophic crash resulting in a bent subframe (among other things) I'm helping to put my sled back together with aftermarket a arms and steering links, but had a friend suggest the rods are a little on the short side. I've included a picture of the (aluminum) rods and the tie rod end...

stock 2012 nytro front end parts

Hey guys, after crippling myself for two weeks crashing into a rock I'm now focused on fixing the offending sled. I hammered an 18" rock in the ditch and bent for sure the lower a arm, upper a arm, subframe and possibly wrecked the GYTR gas shock on the right hand side. Anyone have leads? I'm...

    My nytro is finished!

Your sled is not a stocker, by the look of the info on your profile. I'm actually looking for some a arms, a sub frame and possibly a gas shock for my 2012 xtx which is all stock. What are the chances? Perhaps if there's a fit here, we can make a transplant and your machine live on in spirit...

    2012 xtx track upgrade

What and where is the eps valve?

    2012 xtx track upgrade

The title is a bit weak, I've already got a 2" takeoff track from an 09 RMK, but I've read conflicting reports about fit. According to the measuring tape I stretched in front of the existing 1.25" ripsaw I figured there's about 2.5" of space if I take out the protectors ( I know they need to be...

    Nytro popping ignition fuses

Thanks boys, as soon as life calms down (everything else mechanical has coincidentally gone kaput lately) I'll make sure to forget about this, carry on and curse my luck later...

    Nytro popping ignition fuses

Of course, now it's back in the shop after changing the fuse and turning it on it works fine. Wiggle wires & harnesses around = no change. Now it won't kill the fuse. :(

    Nytro popping ignition fuses

When the sled is turned on, the 20 amp fuse behind the right side panel keeps blowing. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this? What wires would be affected and is it necessary for me to start unwrapping them all and visually checking them?

    The sled is dead

If I follow the wires back from the tether, there is a connection I can take apart and jump the wires. Having done this there is still no power - does this rule the tether out, or would I need to replace the tether itself to know?

    The sled is dead

Lol.. kill switch is disabled anyway (I forgot to mention that, and figured that solution would come up). Thanks Lman. Are we talking 'complete lack of power' problems?

    The sled is dead

I was innocently trail riding and after accidentally hammering the throttle to lift the skis (since I don't want to wear them out ;) I had a situation where Mr sled wanted to head for the bushes and buck me off. In a panic I was able to grab the handlebar from underneath on my way off the sled...

    Nytro subframe

Just my 2 cents, I crashed my '12 xtx whilst flying 20 feet through the air at 40 km/h and coming to an immediate stop in a pile of rocks ..enough to bend an a arm and send me flying. I was worried about the subframe after reading a few opinions about them being a weak point. I'm pleased to...

    When to rebuild?

I checked from the clutch side of the engine compartment and this is what I see (arrows pointing to where I assume the shim would be) I don't think it is shimmed, so I'll take that as minor bad news.

    When to rebuild?

That's a relief to hear. This thing gave me back the #*$&@ eating grin that was starting to fade with the xtx in the deeper snow. W he got a mountain trip booked next weekend, so I guess that will be the test. About octane, is premium (91) suitable for it, or should I be spiking it with octane...

    When to rebuild?

About 8500km, so over 5000 miles. Another thing my friend mentioned is that we tested it cold and if the engine has been warmed up things can tighten up and give higher compression numbers. I'm also going to try & contact the company that installed the turbo & see if anything else was changed...

    When to rebuild?

I've got a turbo'ed (mcxpress 180) 2010 nytro and compression is between 175 - 185 psi. According to the manual it should be between 200 - 230 psi. It's running okay now, but how concerned should I be?
