Ok,so I am trying to take the pre load out of the front ski springs. To back them of I need to turn the collar to the left? (Counter clockwise) because this seems wrong. The shock is showing more thread at the top after some turning it seems to be gaining threads shouldn't it be moving up?
I tightened the collar as much as I could. Maybe four turns and then I couldn't get it to budge even though there are still threads to go. I went around the yard and didn't feel any difference. Could this be also because we only hvhve 2-3 inches on the ground? Should I adjust the ski shocks also?
Thanks guys. I will lift it and tighten both plastic and steel collars tomorrow and see what happens. I could've swore that everything I read said to loosen the collar and back it down. Yes, my goal is lighter steering effort.
After much use of a hammer and flathead I finally got the steel notched collar to spin . the Williams 472 wrench I ordered was too big to get a good turn. I loosened it at least 4 full turns. Then I brought the plastic collar down. Took it for a spin. No difference in how stiff the steering was...
2016 VIPER, first battery from new only lasted 1 year and then started throwing codes and dying out trying to start. Swapped in a new one and bought a Battery Tender and keep it on that all summer. No issues since. I too, believe its a crap shoot. Who knows how long that particular battery sat...
