7300 miles. Thunder Racing clutch kit. I was doing 120 mph across a lake and this happened. Debris broke my secondary too and air box and hood. Pieces went right through my upper clutch guard.
Here's an update after two seasons and over 7000 miles:
I've been running the Evo Stage 3 tune, TD SQ muffler and the Thunder clutch kit.
I ride a lot of high mile weekends and trips so reliability was important.
I bought a set of Fox QS3R's for the front and love them.
I changed my belt after...
Finally hit 3000 miles this weekend. So far the sled has been almost trouble free. I had to replace the secondary rollers at 400 miles with AC rollers. My heat shield is cracked. I noticed some oil weeping around my oil reservoir but the chaincase level is good so I think it's at the seam...
I'm running stage 1 with stock exhaust. Clutch kit arrived today. Any tips on how many magnets to run and where? I was told to target 9200 rpm but that seems high for stock exhaust. I haven't seen the dyno graph.
Pulled my tubes before and after the intercooler, full of oil. I tune a lot of boosted Mustangs and this is not uncommon with PCV systems, even from the factory. Attached is a pic of the pool of water/oil in the hose. How much are you guys seeing?
The lake was flat ice with snow patches. I was trying to do top end runs but too much track spin. At 110 mph the sled nosed over, figured I blew a belt. Basically the sled went into neutral, secondary would spin freely. I put it in reverse, heard a clunk and it moved in reverse no problem...
I went through the sled while changing the oil. I noticed some oil in the belly pan below the chaincase, the lock nut for the chain tensioner was loose so oil was seeping there. I also noticed one of the two bolts that hold the flange for the oil feed line on the bottom of the oil resevoir was...
Just drove mine today. Did approximately 100 miles. I've previously owned a 12 F1100T with 230hp tune' 14 Etec 800 TNT, 15 Axys Switchback 800, 16 Enduro 800 Etec. Everything you've read about the insane power is true. My brother has a 17 800 Switchback Assault and the Sidewinder will...
