    Rage 136" with a venture 144" skid/track

Is it possible to install a RS Venture 144" skid and track on a Rage? I happen to have an extra skid and track from a 2005 RS Venture and am considering putting it on my Rage. Am I crazy? Would the mounts work? I would use the Rage mainly for ice fishing and riding 2 up with kids and like the...

08 Vector - Oil level float fell off

Hello, my oil level float fell of the disptick in my 2008 Vector (round oil tank style). I couldn't get the float out of the tank, so I left it in there. I had a dipstick left over from an 06 vector (squarish oil tank style), however the oil tanks are different shape. Does anyone know if the...

Engine Swap - From 06 RS Vector into 05 RS Venture

The swapped engine runs and purrs nice. I researched into the cam tensioner update and mine has the orange dot. It's not making any 'chainy' type noise so I think I'm okay for now. I'll have to do the update later. Now I need to crack the chaincase again, and replace the Jackshaft bearing. That...

Engine Swap - From 06 RS Vector into 05 RS Venture

pdiddy - I just saw your comment now :( What's the updated cam tensioner? I will have to look it up. I got the Vector engine installed into the Venture. Just need to change the fluids and a few more connections to go. Think I might paint the windshield. Wish I noticed this earlier (maybe...

Engine Swap - From 06 RS Vector into 05 RS Venture

It's been a fun little project so far. Looking forward to getting that engine in the venture this weekend. fingers crossed that it will fire right up. MAIM - The plan was to part out the vector to recoup the cost of replacing my blown up engine. I have the vector all torn apart, so I'm not sure...

Engine Swap - From 06 RS Vector into 05 RS Venture

Hello Yamaha 4 Stroke Engine guru's, My 05 RS Venture 973cc engine threw a rod (about 11000kms) and I'm swapping in an engine from a 06 Rs Vector (about 10000 kms). I bought the Vector complete as a running/trail ready machine at the end of last season but I'm parting it out for the engine and...

Thrown Rod/Cracked Case - 05 Venture Replacement engine question)

Hello all, End of season last year, I threw a rod (failed piston 'Plane Bearing') on my 05 RS Venture and the top and bottom cases of my engine cracked. I took it all apart to see what I could salvage so I have a bunch of good parts left. I have a lead on an 06 Vector engine which should just...

Sled moves forward without pressing throttle

Update - so i think removing the shims and changing to a yamaha belt have corrected my issue. I can let the machine sit and idle without it pulling forward. all good now! when the new belt tension bolts and shims come in, I will see if they make a difference. thanks everyone!

    05 Rs venture Windsheild

What other years/ models windshields will fit my 2005 Rs Venture? I goofed up and used acetone trying to remove trail pass sticker adhesive. It burned up the lexan and looks like crap. I will try to polish with some headlight restore products that I have. Hopefully that will help a little.

Sled moves forward without pressing throttle

I wondered about that as they had mushroomed a bit. I cleaned up the mushroomed edges before I put them back in. Not a bad idea to get new ones. I wanted to get new shims anyways. I think there are 1 mm and 0.5 mm thick ones from Yamaha.

Sled moves forward without pressing throttle

I figured out why my parking brake wasn't working. The cable snapped. Pulled it right out of the tube. Goign to run the sled a bit tonight to see how my belt rides after removing the tensioning shims. Where's a good place to order Yamaha parts from? Either website or dealer close to...

Sled moves forward without pressing throttle

so i learned how to to remove the belt, remove the secondary and also remove the tensioning shims on the backside of the secondary. I put it all back together and will test in the upcoming days. I put the Carlisle belt back on, but I feel it sits a bit low of the edge the secondary. I think...

Sled moves forward without pressing throttle

I have taken the sled on a few little runs up and down some nearby ditches. Not a real test but seems to ride fine. The belt on the sheaves is Carlisle XS805 (Google tells me dimensions 1-3/8" x 45-1/8" for this belt). I noticed that it looks like the belt sits below the the height of the...

Sled moves forward without pressing throttle

Thanks guys. I will check into these things tonight. I'll try to get a # off the belt and read through how to tension. Those are good places to start. I hope it's a matter of adjusting the tension.

Sled moves forward without pressing throttle

Hi Guys, I'm new to sleds. Had a grizzly atv before though, so am kind of a Yamaha guy I guess. bought a 05 RS Venture few months go and when I took it for a spin on the guys lawn, the parking brake was on for a few laps. I didn't know any better at the time. Now that we have snow, I've been...
