All I can tell you is I had the clutch off 3 times and my secondary with the adjuster but backed all the way off and the belt could even be worked up to top of clutch sheaves even by hand... and after I removed that inner spacer I suddenly had plenty of adjustment to put belt at top of sheaves...
I’m now curious about what looks to be 4 different number positions where perhaps the secondary spring can be rotated???? What purpose does this serve?
Yes I’m familiar with adjusting the clutch with the threaded rig makes it just like my skidoo was .... just wasn’t sure if I should remove...
I’ve removed the single washer between secondary and shaft circlip.... so the secondary is sitting directly on circlip.....
Is this ok?
It does seem to make the whole 61mm a lot closer.... I don’t have a good edge to use but using what I have it seems to be closer so spec then with the washer...
Ok guys,
I have a 18’ winder BTX SE.... I’ve always thought engagement is in a slightly higher gear ration then optimal.... also confirm this by looking at the belt in the secondary....
• I’ve I installed an Excell motor sports secondary adjustable deflection. Rig.....
• The belt still...
Ok... keep us posted...
You do sound like an educated guy... do you Clean your clutch surfaces? Do you use anything other then hot water and dawn with a scotchrite pad?
• I've cleaned clutches twice in 2500 miles with nothing more then two quick scrub downs...
• deflection is alttle loose...
My dealer took care of me... the parts were hard to get but they end up taking them off a showroom sled... I suggest the same... if you havnt given he dealer a chance maybe suggest that... I went through as you know a complete failure as well... BUT MY DEALER DID RIGHT THING!
As far as your...
mine doesn't have evols either as it's a 2018 SE model...
I'm understanding of why they use the cheaper shocks... and really if all I did was trail ride easy the Float 3's would suffice.... However I'm neither a slow rider or a gentle one... these shocks will simply not survive my abuse...
I wish it could be fixed... if I could figure a solution I would do it..... some say deal with it... drive faster.... add a louder muffler.... I say it's friggen embarrassing to start my sled up... I love sled just wish it spunded little more like the Arctic cat ....
GUESS THE PEOPLE LIKE US...
well I have heard of several issues with chaincase and been part of one of them.....
1, Tensioner Jam-nut is not properly torqued and allows tensioner to loosen and back itself out leaving a loose Chain and all the oil pumps out hole
2, sight glass falls out of chaincase draining oil
3, what...
******** MUST DO***********
Take a look at the oil change process.... then take a Look at the panel on right lower side (under your side panel on exhaust side) this runs from foot well to front of sled and is held in place by rivets. Don't be shy drill them puppies out... with side panel off...
Also think about saving the cost of oil... it's not gonna get any cheaper for 2 stroke oil.... $50/gal how many miles that last 1000 maybe
My sled cost me every 3500 miles
• $45 For oil change
My E-tec had to burn 1/gal every 750 miles
• 5) gallons = $250 worth of skidoo oil to go the...
DO IT!!!
I love my WINDER happy I made he move!
I just about ran out of fuel today and was able to put 9.89 gals in so I would call it a 10/gal tank
I see anywhere from 10-15+ mpg pending on my mood which varies just as much. but there isn't anything that will touch this thing! Can't wait to...
They will have an SRX!
It will have electronic launch control, refined handlebars, a suspension lockout for drag racing, and better skis....
And I bet they redefine the sidewinder as a 200hp class sled with skinnier side panels
But wouldn't it be cool to see a factory 250hp SRX Version!
The more I learn about the clutch and look at it (Havnt taken it off and apart yet) but I am finding your probly right If the clutch was setup not to rattle it prob wouldn't work as well...
I'm gonna leave it and run the TD 265 kit next year to drown the noise!
it rattles way more then just at idle, and my 18 seems to rattle more then most 17's I've run into on trails, I obviously stated I own the sled and love it..... but this is to me very disheartening and very bothersome to me. I simply would like to fix it AND IF THAT CANT BE DONE I will deal with...
I hear the muffler thing... I will be Doing the 265 kit next season so maybe that will help...
I've tried O-rings and they lasted maybe 20 mins before they just went missing... thought about trying nylon washers...
What else can I do? I would hate to put a Cat clutch on but atleast they dont...
2018 Btx SE
Does anyone else get super agitated with the clutch rattle in this thing.... I'm in love with sled But damn!
I have looked into it and it appears the 2018 "update" included longer spacers and loose rollers in primary, I assume this is intentional to rattle rollers and keep them...
