    Clutch Offset

Looks like I will pull the washer and see where that puts me, from what I understand I will have to adjust belt deflection after offset. The clutching game is all new to me, coming from a few polaris sleds with better aligned clutches from factory, or not enough power to shred them lol

    SNAP! Exhaust bolt

Well successfully got it back together, was glad to get that PITA fixed. Brought the exhaust bolts to 15ft/lbs. I will keep a close eye. The factory torque spec on the chaincase cover I feel is also to high at 12ft lbs. Twisted one bolt right off, luckily it came out easily. Went by feel with...

    Clutch Offset

Just reading through this thread as I am working on setting offset. Is the consensus that it is ok to run the secondary directly on the circlip? Or is it best to machine the secondary and add more shims if necessary. I am at 62mm with the factory spacer/washer that separates the inner side of...

    SNAP! Exhaust bolt

Welder didn't work, but a couple broken drill bits later... It's out! Ended up getting a left hand (reverse) drill bit. 1/4" and picked it out, just ran a tap throught to clean up the threads. Also picked up the SS bolts, lock washers and nickel anti seize!

    SNAP! Exhaust bolt

Good news so far, warmed the sled up and used the cut torx to remove the remaining 2 bolts. At least I can continue my chaincase oil service, and chain tension.

    SNAP! Exhaust bolt

Ok, so assuming I can get the other 2 out... I should first attempt to have someone weld a nut onto the remaining stub of the bolt? Use the drilling and extractor method as back up?

    SNAP! Exhaust bolt

Here's some pictures. It broke while removing to change chaincase oil. I stopped at that one. The 3 on the right side came out fairly easy. After that one broke I got nervous to touch the 2 that require the ball end torx or a "custom" cut torx.

    SNAP! Exhaust bolt

Unfortunately I have to welding experience... Do you see an issue with me leaving it as is? I am nervous to try drilling it

    SNAP! Exhaust bolt

Was going to change my chaincase oil and started removing the exhaust bolts... You know what happened. Only one though. So my question, any tips on extracting the stud to replace? Or anybody see an issue with leaving it, and running just the 5 bolts?

    1900kms new belt issue

Thanks for the info, I will definitely look into cleaning, checking offset, XS 825 and some reading. Very generous but unfortunately I am in Ontario, maybe I can find someone to lend me a tool. As for staying off the flipper, after the 2 belts I'm scared to touch it!

    1900kms new belt issue

Finished the trip (light on the throttle) on the spare belt I had which was a new 8JP, and bought another new 8JP from the local dealer as I was concerned to have just one. Now looking for future recommendation, will start with cleaning clutches and have to research on offset. I am new to this...
