Digging up old threads thanks to google.
I remember this being an issue back when I had my 06 Apex RTX and I've been out of the came for a few years now but recently picked up a 06 Attack with the adjuster and guess what.... Broken cable. Does anyone have a part number for the updated version...
So I ended up removing the Manifolds to give them a good look and was glad to find no cracks. I was also very surprised as to how easily the manifold bolts actually came out. Now with the manifolds out of the way it was super easy to remove the damaged Y-pipes without messing with the riveted...
Ok. I managed to get the button heads with a little PBlaster and allen socket on a breaker and the might blow of my hammer cracking down over the socket. Think I'm going to try the flashlight trick 1st and see where that takes me. Thanks for the help guys.
Thnx for the reply rider. Planning to contact Port Yamaha for the SS Y-pipes and some Ulmer copper gaskets already (likely the rest of the parts too because that just makes sense lol). I guess my real question(s) were more directed toward the manifolds themselves. Do the manifold bolts tend to...
Getting back into the game finally and we picked up a 06 Attack. Well guess what the donuts are leaking so my brother and i start pulling it apart last night and find that the Y pipes are junk too. Now I'm concerned that the manifolds themselves could be damaged too. Is there a good way to...
Started working on this 600 last night, owner said it seemed like the #3 jug wasn't firing or firing well. I pulled the carbs and found that the jets were a little gummed up mainly the pilots. Anyway I did a compression test while I had it and here is what I got.

It's a hell of a sight to see him hauck that Yami the way he does. I've had the pleasure of seeing him backie at 2 shows now and both places each flip was perfect. Infact I got a sweet shot at the 1st show that he signed for me. But like any sport some days your on and some days well maybe not.
I wasn't going to both with the kit to be honest. Then while preping my sled for a ride the end of this week I found that the top of my shock had actually been rubbing on the track. Looking at it when the shock was installed you couldn't tell but after I pulled the shock to adjust the clip...
sell the cat, slap a bottle in the Yami, save the rest of th $$$ for trips up north so you can use the sled.
Congrats on the win BTW. A few of us talked about heading up there but never made it. We're right on the MA/NH line too.
Use a little foam filter oil on the elements to help them stay in the housing. It'll also help stop water/snow dust from getting sucked through. I've been using those UNI plugs for years on quads and they work great. just be sure not to make the hole to big otherwise they'll keep falling out...
That is awesome! I've been working on a design for my girls RS Rage. She wound up getting the pink Yami graphitti (sp) jacket. any chance you'd let me know the brand and # of the pink you used.
;)! lol I couldn't agree more.
I've got just baout 600miles on my 06RTX and don't have any intention of changing the shield. good gloves, good jacket, good balaclava= GOOD TIMES
here's a good story for ya. With all the talk on here about the hand warmers I decided to give my dealer(place I purchased the new sled from) a call to find out what they had heard. At the time (early Oct.)they knew of the issue and stated that they were taking names so they could get an idea...
