    TD/GAP Big Turbo first impressions

Thanks! I want to do this next season possibly. Head studs are the one part of the setup that causes me a little hesitation.

Did you have to do head studs on that setup?

    Grinding mystery ???!!

Did you mount the suspension back in the same holes that it came out of? I didn’t one time and it made terrible noises when driving.

    Side panel exhaust stain

We get this stuff at work called Syncrosol. It really seems to work good on most anything. I don’t know how or where to get it. I sneak a little home now and again.

    Thump, thump, thump mystery noise

I would also put a few quid on it being the belt.

    BOP bearing upgrade observations

Nope. Hose stayed in place. I didn’t have to bleed it.

    Traction set-up questions

I use 1.86’s on my XTX with no issues. Just a very tight track. Yamaha protectors only.

    BOP bearing upgrade observations

I was able to do both of mine without splitting the caliper. The biggest hassle for me was getting the old bearing out of the housing.

    Knockout kit

I just finished my seasonal and additions on my SRX and for whatever reason this knockout kit had a much more dramatic effect than on my older XTX. I did switch to an Apex primary, although I have a hard time believing that was an attributing factor.

    Knockout kit

There’s no doubt it helped. I’m not disappointed in any way. I was skeptical about it quieting the clutch anyways. But there is definitely much less mechanical chatter in that area.

    Knockout kit

I used most of the package it came with. I won’t be saving the little bag of what’s left, maybe 5%.

    Knockout kit

I just did this kit on my xtx and srx. I wasn’t amazed by any means. It helped stop some noise but seems to have made the clutch noise more pronounced for me. Probably just eliminated enough other mechanical noise to allow the clutch noise to come through more. That’s my experience anyways.

    Stock take-off muffler

Does the handlebar button require a cluster flash? I have a flashing tool and a tune bundle.

    Who's going to order a 2025??

I’m gonna try to get one for the last year. Something with EPS.

    Primary roller bushing

That’s a very nice way to say it. SPI has been complete garbage from my experience.

    Clutch weights

Two sets of 8LR weights @ $125 CDN each and a set of Dalton DPYA-74 weights @ $150 CDN. Very low miles on either set. Shipping extra.

    Fuel pump issue?

Map sensor? Could also be moisture in one or More of the small sensor lines running to the nose of the sled.

    Clutch spring manuf preference?

I always use dalton. I use their weights, helixes, and springs. Other than OEM, I don’t have anything to compare them to. Their stuff has always worked as advertised for me.
