XTX off trail riders...what's your setup?

It now turns out it is already dialled in as I am 90% trail and 10% off trail. So the 1.6 Cobra does trail great and for the 10% of the time I'm off trail as long as I keep momentum and track speed its decent. I would love to do more off trail as I find it much more fun and challenging but the...

XTX off trail riders...what's your setup?

I have a 2017 XTX SE, stock everything. With the 1.6” lug. Also trying to get it to work well in the powder. You have a 2.25” lug track. I would imagine this makes a massive difference. Does your sled have a turbo? If not did you change gearing? Do you find it has good power with a 2.25” lug...

    Mohawk Ski’s- 2017 Viper XTX

I have since put apx 500km on these ski’s. They are amazing. It’s like I bought a new sled. No joke. I now have lots of confidence going into a turn and off trail the flotation is excellent. Highly recommend!

    2017 XTX Track Pitch

Looking to replace stock track with a Backcountry X 1.75. What pictch do I need. 2.86 or 3.0? Also is there any clearance issues with the 1.75 vs 1.6? I’ve heard a lot of good feedback on the BCX 1.75. I do mostly trail riding but also a lot of off trail. Find the stock track does not hookup...

    Tipped Up Rails

I own a 2017 Viper XTX SE. Do these come standard with tipped up rails? Kinda hard to tell by looking at them. Thanks in advance. :)

New to me 2014 xtx, what are must do mods?

Update to the above. After using the Everlaster carbides for a lot of miles although they were a huge improvement over stock they still push a lot in loose snow and the ski’s have almost no floatation in deep snow. I have since replaced the skis with SLP MoHawks and they’re carbides. Highly...

    Mohawk Ski’s- 2017 Viper XTX

Update on the new Mohawk ski’s I ordered. They are now installed. Got out for a very short ride tonight. First impression is WOW! They corner great! In normal loose snow no push at all and they rail in the corners. Very little darting as well. Went off trail briefly and the flotation is...

    Oil on the Floor

I have a 2017 XTX and after playing in the powder this week I also noticed oil coming out of the air box when checking my belt condition. Not enough that it is dripping on the floor but noticeable when the left side panel was off. Is this something that I need to worry about? This sled is...

How to make a viper stand up

Are you riding an XTX? If not what is your track length? Did you soften only the rear skid shock or front as well. I would think soften rear only and stiffen front for more rear power transfer. Is there a trick to getting it to start to lift off the ground in terms of rider position etc...

    Mohawk Ski’s- 2017 Viper XTX

I could not agree more. I was out a couple nights ago after getting a fresh 35cm of snow and man the front end just dives into the snow if you slow down at all. Even at speed it plows through it more then staying on top. I know these are front heavy with the 4-stroke but I knew it had to be...

    Mohawk Ski’s- 2017 Viper XTX

Awesome feed back Wannaviper, Thank you! To get a better perspective of the steering effort. How would you compare them to the original tuners. I do not find the tuners hard to steer whatsoever. Takes a little effort when going slow and turning but that’s to be expected.

    Mohawk Ski’s- 2017 Viper XTX

Have you used the Mohawk ski’s? I am aware that the Cat ski’s is an option. But looking for first hand experience on the Mohawk. Main reason for the choice is flotation. I do a lot of off trail riding.

    Mohawk Ski’s- 2017 Viper XTX

I want to purchase new ski’s for my Viper and have read a lot of threads on all the most common brands. C&A, Curves etc... I have decided on SLP Mohawk ski’s. Before I take the plunge and order them I am looking for some first hand experience on the following. Compared to stock tuner 3 ski’s...
